The more people that quickly return to work, the more people there will be earning paychecks, and the more people who will spend and send that money back into the economy.

The process of unscaring the populace will have to lean on something. I would guess that something will be an ineffective treatment like Remdesivir, or maybe a 30% effective vaccine.

The problem with that process will be the huge number of reporters looking for a Pulitzer who will go out trying to rip the cover off of the deception.

It’s not we who are screwed. It’s the whole planet.

Yeah. The problem is it’s not entirely over-blown. I’ve known 10 people who have caught the Wu-Flu. 9 came out fine with various degrees of sickness, one died. He was in his seventies and had serious underlying conditions. It was still a big blow to our family.

I’m 100% behind opening the economy fully, don’t get me wrong. But with social distancing and masks, we’re looking at a slow recovery at best. It sucks.

I feel terrible for my friends who have poured years of blood, sweat, and tears into their businesses just to see them virtually destroyed over a mere 60 day period. I offered one friend a $10,000 interest free loan he can pay back over 5 years if it would help him stay afloat. His business has provided me years of enjoyment. I hope he can recover.

I think as people get out and go to the store or restaurant and then don’t get sick they will become more comfortable with doing more of it. That is when the fear will subside and the economy will come back.

We have been convinced that the virus is lurking everywhere waiting to pounce and kill you. When people realize that is fear mongering and not fact people will relax.

Some day we’ll get an accurate count of how many of these 80789 are actually COVID-19.

We just make the raw materials and ship it to producers like Procter and Gamble, Unilever, Gojo, etc. We don’t make and package the sanitizer on site. Thanks for the tip though! Demand will be through the roof for a good long time.

That’s sad. The dumbing down of America on display.

Eh, whatever. I believe masks have a use based on the available research and after talking with RNs, NPs where I work - and who want to get back to work to do their jobs.

Ultimately, people make their own decisions on if masks are going to be worn. If people have made an informed decision, I am all for that - whether it means wearing a mask or not.

I'm sorry it makes you uncomfortable that people wear masks after (hopefully) making the best decision for their circumstances.

I agree with your comment, I’m simply saying the flu attacked people differently as time went on. It got much worse.

LS: “Maybe you can help: I saw a story last week that 5m may have already returned to work.”

Paragraph 8: “Tom Porcelli, chief U.S. economist at RBC Capital Markets, estimates that as many as 5 million people may have already returned to work. Other economists put the number at several million.”

There is much more, I suggest that you read the whole report.
