DC has an extensive subway system. Seems to be that hot spots often have subways.
The “Common Cold” isn’t one virus, it is many that “evolve”/mutate...so you can have herd immunity to one specific virus, but many new “variants” pop up that are different enough from the original that you get symptoms (usu. less severe)(corona-type viruses are esp. good at this). I have found that I get fewer & fewer colds as I get older...my antibodies have “been there done that”.
Wrong. Do your homework. It’s a different cold every time you get it. They feel the same because the symptoms are the same.
There are hundreds of corona viruses that we call “colds” - they are cured via herd immunity - you don’t get the same one twice.

Of course it is. That used to be common knowledge. In fact, I think the SS was created to investigate counterfeiting. I think folks are aware that the SS does more than just protect the president and select others. There is the uniformed division which does the mundane types of investigations and the protective division or whatever it is called which is the more high profile, of course.
I remember the Secret Service prostitute scandals under Obama, no telling where these Secret Service agents have been and what diseases they may have caught.
That is very reassuring—so it will be a different coronavirus every time we get it. ;-)

We keep forgetting that having it can man you have NO symptoms or almost no symptoms.

But seriously - yes - it is daunting to accept that millions of unidentified life-threatening microscopic organisms are all around us, constantly adapting.
If we had to depend on Big Pharma and doctor/bureaucrats like Fauci to protect us - it would indeed be hopeless.
But fortunately, we don’t. Humans evolved coexisting with all manner of bacteria and viruses - mostly unknown to us - and yet here we are. Our bodies evolved with the ability to defend against them - it’s called herd immunity.
I don’t feel miserable - but thanks for your concern.

Don’t know why my comment seemed to have touched a nerve - but sorry, I guess.
The guy I worked with had at one time also managed the SS garage, which was responsible for the maintenance and safety (scanning for explosives, etc.) of all DC diplomatic vehicles (other than the presidential limos, which had their own maintenance and safety facilities/processes). Made sense, but it’s a niche that hadn’t occurred to me.

I think we've found who spread it to the White House
