WASHINGTON - As Europe and the U.S. loosen their lockdowns against the coronavirus, health experts are expressing growing dread over what they say is an all-but-certain second wave of deaths and infections that could force governments to clamp back down in a drawn-out, two-steps-forward-one-step-back process.
“We’re risking a backslide that will be intolerable,” said Dr. Ian Lipkin of Columbia University’s Center for Infection and Immunity.
Around the world, German authorities began drawing up plans in case of a resurgence of the virus. Experts in Italy urged intensified efforts to identify new victims and trace their contacts. And France, which hasn’t yet eased its lockdown, has already worked up a “reconfinement plan” in the event of a new wave.
“There will be a second wave, but the problem is to which extent. Is it a small wave or a big wave? It’s too early to say,” said Olivier Schwartz, head of the virus unit at France’s Pasteur Institute.
In the U.S., with about half of the states easing their shutdowns to get their economies restarted and cellphone data showing that people are becoming restless and increasingly leaving home, public health authorities are worried.

That’s means that the more of them we make, the better for the rest of us (Herd immunity among the young and strong,) among whom serious illness and death are miniscule risks.
So turn loose everyone under 50 who is in good health; protect the aged and infirm. Deaths will plummet, and cases will do what ever they will, but won’t matter.
BTW This is essentially what Sweden did, and Germany. What we should have done from the start.

The process of flattening the curve did not reduce the number of infections according to the first iteration of why we should blow up our economy. A longer curve with lower cases was supposed to prevent inundation of resources.
Everyone feared a sharp spike would have bodies piling up in the steer. However simple calculus points out that the area under each curve which represents cases is identical.
So the agenda has changed and it is subtle and insidious. It has shifted to prevent the infection not flatten the curve. And in doing so, these pearl clutching hand wringers have their hooks in our liberty and it will be damn near impossible to extract them.
While I personally doubt a resurgence as summer will generally take care of respiratory infections, no doubt it will be used to further turn us into sheeple. It is no longer a health concern. The tyrants are playing us like a Stradivarius to further erode our freedoms.
Blue state Governors self-inflicting lockdowns are also worried that their states will be bankrupt in a month or two.
There will definately be a 2nd wave, and it’ll be a big one. Just as the Chinese government gave low numbers for their political purposes, so will our government officials exaggerate our numbers for their political gain.
Objective: Shut down the world economy, i.e. private enterprise, so the Leftist-Stasis can take over all means of production and distribution.
The willing serfs will accept it all and not put up a fight.

What can we do? Build herd immunity. Then develop a vaccine. It’ll be useful for a SARS like virus hitting us in the future. Supposedly SARS and MERS viruses are deadlier but COVID-19 is way more contagious.
