Attention turned to missing absentee ballots Wednesday as state officials reported three tubs of them were discovered in a mail processing center and the Milwaukee Election Commission called for an investigation into a separate set of undelivered ballots.
And Fox Point officials said 100 or more ballots a day were returned to the village as undelivered in the week leading up to the election.
The discoveries emerged as would-be voters across the state expressed a host of frustrations about trying to obtain absentee ballots so they could avoid going to the polls during the coronavirus pandemic. Many have said ballots they requested long ago did not arrive by Tuesday, the deadline for getting their ballots postmarked.
"I learned today that the (Wisconsin Elections Commission) received a call from a postal service worker informing them 3 large tubs of absentee ballots from Oshkosh and Appleton, were just located."
As clerks processed absentee ballots Wednesday, they found a new issue to consider envelopes that don't have postmarks.
Postmarks aren't used on a majority of absentee ballots from municipalities that use postage meters, according to Albrecht.
He said he anticipated the postmark issue would become particularly problematic for ballots received Wednesday that were clearly sent by the deadline but that dont have a postmark.
He said he wasnt sure whether those ballots would be counted or if the U.S. Supreme Courts ruling would be interpreted literally to disqualify ballots that don't have postmarks on them.

Additionally, I would suspect the Democrats to see to it that mailed ballots from Republican precincts and counties would not be delivered to the election authorities for counting in a timely manner.
And good union mailmen are Communist. Speaking from knowledge, here. Had an inlaw who was a STATE postal worker's union officer.
He'd always whine about how the union would protect these goofs from ANY violation, up to and including felonies, and they wouldn't vote straight ticket Communist. Some would even, (The Horror!), vote Republican, particularly vets.
It's why, when I saw that the USPS was going broke in the coming June, I shed no tears. It hasn't been able to pay for itself in forever, despite the propaganda, and now the business model is coming apart at the seams.
Wisconsin has a voter ID law. Mail in ballot requests must include a copy of your Drivers License. The ballot mailed back to you has to be signed by city clerk.
The essence of this kerfuffle is that a U.S. District Court took upon its self to change the rules of the Wisconsin Primary. The Supreme Court had already ruled that doing this was a no-no. Therefore their decision was not a surprise, they simply reminded everyone that courts can’t do this. And the change that the Supreme Court struck down was the part that extended the date of the election, allowing absentee voting beyond the legal election day, April 7th. The Government of Wisconsin, either the Governor or the Legislature could have changed the election, but they did not do so.
Of course, the Democrats will never pass up an opportunity to cheat in an election and the easiest way to do it is to monkey with the absentee balloting. That is why Speaker Pelosi is advocating a nation wide, Federal mandated vote by mail system for November, 2020. It’s the only way that the Democrats can win.
‘
Let me guess: they were from zip codes with high proportions of Republicans.
LMFAO! You wrote "show ID"!
Democrats must hate that... makes cheating harder.
Jeeeez. Is Wisconsin a 3rd world country?
MOST of the mail I get on a monthly basis has NO POSTMARK at all.
Democrats are starting early rigging not new.
That’s a very safe bet.
Those people are smart enough to know that without rampant Voter Fraud and Ballot Tampering, their party would only be a small and regional entity.
One huge resaon why they hate real Americans.
On Election Day, yes. It is the Democrat Party M.O.
Wisconsin has early voting where you go to a local governmental agency like town hall and you can vote early with the same rules that apply to in person voting. Not a big issue.
I hate the idea of mail in voting as it is really unnecessary unless you are really out of state during the time when early voting is available or election day.
Early voting starts 30 days prior to the election BTW so there is no reason the extend voting for mail in ballots.
Proving Trump’s comment just 2 days ago.
What no one is talking about is how the democrats deliberately allowed the Primary to continue when it didnt need to, potentially infecting hundreds of thousands
Follow my logic
Bernie could have dropped out of the race before the Wisconsin primary but chose not to.
Bernie drops out the day after the primary.
He knew he was going to lose, so why stay in the race?
If he dropped out before the democrat turnout would be suppressed because why go vote if just Biden is running?
Because there was the Wisconsin Supreme Court race. They wanted to increase turnout so the Democrat would be elected.
Once again the Democrats put party before country.
And the democrats want voting by mail.
I can tell you this much. There is some kind of planned manipulation going on here in order to commit vote fraud. The democrats have ways of doing it that most people have never even thought of.
Mail in early votes are the cats meow for them. So many ways to cheat with them.
I do get mail these days that has no date on the postmark. That should be as illegal as can be. When it comes to billing and notifications then it wrong on so many levels for things to go through the post office and not be dated. But our modern government just does not care.
Anyone sending votes by mail are already getting an opportunity that they should not have. I Guess it is up to them to be sure that their ballot is postmarked. Even if it means having it hand canceled.
