Model Projects When The Coronavirus Will Peak In Each State
Breitbart ^ | 3-31-2020 | Hannah Bleau

Posted on 03/31/2020 2:28:56 PM PDT by blam

The United States, as a whole, is roughly two weeks away from reaching the peak of the coronavirus pandemic, but the peaks for individual states will vary, with most occurring over the next four weeks, according to projections from the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME).

When it comes to the arrival of the coronavirus, not all states are facing the same timeline. Some states, like New York and Louisiana, have quickly become epicenters of the virus in the United States and, as a result, will reach a resource peak weeks sooner than states like Kentucky and Missouri, which are not expected to reach their highest demand until the second week of May. The various projections, based on peak hospital resource demand caused by the virus, could explain why some governors are taking more aggressive, imminent actions in their response to the pandemic.

Here are the projected peaks for all 50 states, plus D.C., per the IHME model. The model takes into consideration the number of beds needed, as well as ventilators.

New York, for example, is expected to hit its resource peak April 9.

Sure we will, it’s called socialism. Socialism is going to assert a huge footprint in our new economy. But hey, its worth it if we can save a couple 85 year old smokers.

When I think of computer models I remember hurricane models with 30 different computers, using the same data, chart 30 different paths. I feel caronavirus computer models are doing the same.

I am just an average ol’ Joe who scours internet each day looking at all of the data concerning this epidemic. I don’t see exponential growth of the virus. I see a straight line graph increasing now, but which appears ready to become a decreasing slope. But, who am I to say??

So what is it measuring, peak hospital resource demand or peak number of cases?

DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS

This study used data on confirmed COVID-19 deaths by day from WHO websites and local and national governments; data on hospital capacity and utilization for US states; and observed COVID-19 utilization data from select locations to develop a statistical model forecasting deaths and hospital utilization against capacity by state for the US over the next 4 months.

Forecasting COVID-19 impact on hospital bed-days, ICU-days, ventilator days and deaths by US state in the next 4 months

I used to be that you knew that the information in a presentation was going to be bovine excrement and nothing else when it was presented by a model. Generally blonde with huge breasts.

Today you can still be sure a presentation is bovine excrement and nothing else when it is presented by a model. Generally a computer model with fabricated graphs and charts.

When this passes the USofA should create tax incentives to bring manufacturing back to America and DESTROY China.

They need to rerun this model with current data of all the shutdown states information. This poor modeling is either incompetent or corrupt, like the FISA program.

NONE of this means anything!!!! There hasn’t been any testing!!! Anyone here been tested? Hasn’t anyone wondered why precious few have “recovered”? It’s about the testing.

What are we told if we suspect we have it: Stay Home, leave the doctors and hospitals alone unless you are severe! The folks I know in my community, who have it are home. Diagnosed over the phone.

Landlords and investors and all of us have to suck it up. Don’t expect rents, don’t expect dividends, don’t expect interest, don’t expect anything. Suck it up....and we’ll be better after.
