One of my issues with Same Sex Marriage is that the notion that “people should be allowed to be married if they love each other” just throws the door wide open for polygamy. On what ground can you deny me my three wives? We love each other!
But gun control ought to act the same way and that pleases me a lot more. If truckers can carry anywhere — because the Second Amendment says their right shall not be infringed, then it just throws the door open to get rid of virtually all gun control. Why do states have any control at all? The Constitution, to my mind, says that they don’t.
..we have a family member who is a cross country trucker, and former military. There is no reason why he should not have constitutional carry wherever he goes IMHO...
Because the states decided to recognize them. And even with that the driver is expected to abide by other states laws.

And I would expect they will uphold individual state CCW laws on 10th Amendment grounds. But with this court who really knows?

I’ve never understood how the Constitution can explicitly say that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed and then we just let the Feds put in restrictions and we let the states put in restrictions, and localities put in restrictions. There’s a whole lot of infringing going on.
