Even the doom and gloomers say 2 million deaths. We need to start having a conversation about what an acceptable mortality rate is for this thing or the effect of it is going to destroy all of us. I think anything under 1mil would be a win. I know when I say that I sound like George C. Scott in the bunker in Dr. Strangelove, but we need to chang our mindset on this if were going to survive.
The challenge we have is that even with 1M deaths (a horrific number to be sure), this thing is gonna continue to spread.
We have to burn it totally out. And unfortunately the only way to do that is deny it fuel (people to pass it to others).
OR, develop a vaccine. But we’re at least a year, possibly 18 months from one being widely available - unless a miracle happens.
Our population (US) increases by 2 million a year. If 2 million die this year, our year end population in 2020 will be equal to what it was in 2019.
