Since so many are on Medicare, Medicaid and/or have insurance, aren’t the hospitals awash with receivables? I’m sure their billing departments aren’t shut down.

Redistribution...sorry, but thats what this is. Shame on us. Should have used the same amount to shore up the states unemployment systems. Should not be paying people the same wage for being unemployed as when employed. Should have given a tax holiday on SSI tax instead. That would put more money into workers pockets, and saved employers huge matching costs, freeing up money to keep employees on payroll... IMO

Supporting businesses trying to stay in business during a pandemic is certainly called for but some businesses need to die, not only die but die a hurtful death.

The ‘businesses’ I am condemning are the leveraged hedge funds that have built mountains of bullsh*t in derivatives and mortgage bonds and who are inbred with the Fed.

We don’t need that in our society. I hope this rescue bill cuts them out but I am not optimistic. Such business lines have arranged people’s retirement accounts to be grafted into their spider web. So they will be allowed to continue feeding on their prey caught up in their web.

And we will all pay for it one way or another.

They should be required to pay for everything in coin change.

Not seeing if those on Social Security are still included. It was mentioned in earlier discussions...Also that they would use 2018 Tax returns if 2019 returns were not filed.. Trying to block illegals, etc. not paying taxes from receiving checks...Still has to be voted on today for final passage..

quaters, dimes or pennies, none will go to the Presidents companies. Very admirable.

I’m sure whatever my business gets, I will have to pay back.

I’m also sure whatever Boeing and the hedge funds get, they will not have to pay back.

I understand that this is the way our system works - and that crony corporatism is far preferable to the collectivist alternative.

But I don’t have to like it...

Just how will they get the … (Direct payments to lower- and middle-income Americans of $1,200 for each adult, as well as $500 for each child.)

From income tax database?

Any ideas?

Funny story: my sister and I went to Bellagio in N. Italy in the 1990s. Our hotel bill was 1,500,000 lire.

I almost passed out. It actually came to somewhere around $3000 IIRC but was still funny!

“SBA grants of up to $10,000 for small business costs”

In todays $s 10K is what maybe 1 week at best foe a small business of 6 or so employees. Drop in bucket.

> “Redistribution...sorry, but thats what this is.”

No, there’s another way to view it.

Vast majority of people pay taxes, very few do not pay taxes.

The $1200 is a return of personal taxes. The problem is not in the returning of taxes but returning too little of personal taxes.

$1200 won’t even pay an average month’s rent in some locations.
