Professor Jonathan Turley of Georgetown University Law School wrote in The Hill of the Speaker’s State of the Union behavior, “Pelosi has shredded decades of tradition, decorum and civility that the nation could use now more than ever.” He also described her with the words “petty,” “distempered,” and “inappropriate.” She failed to introduce the President properly, and then was particularly out of line when she tore up his speech after grimacing and showing petulant expressions throughout the President’s speech.
Turley asserted that she should resign from office as the Speaker as her breaches of decorum at the State of Union were the worst of all those he has criticized over the years. For Turley, it is important because decorum is a kind of unifying glue. It is the fallback M.O., the detachment whereby differences of person and policy are transcended in our republic. He might just as well have called for the entire Democrat caucus to resign and be replaced by people of honor and integrity. It is at that point that the analysis seems to fade into fantasy.
Sadly, at this time in history, Turley’s view is a case of not seeing the forest for the trees. Instead of decorum being the way unity is maintained as in the past, decorum now serves mainly as a mask covering a profound dislocation, a profound disunity. Her lack of decorum and the unconscionable, implacable hostility of the Democrats of the House and Senate reveals the extreme political animosity that presently afflicts our country.

I wonder if Pelosi had all of these antics already planned when she agreed that President Trump could give his State of the Union address in the House chamber. She probably co-ordinated with Schumer to make sure that the acquittal vote would take place after the State of the Union address. Trump was smart to make no mention of the impeachment circus in his speech.

That’s right. And whatever pathetic “justification” the Rats gave will be lost on history. They will forever look like the embodiment of hatred we’ve come to know.
I’m sure Pelosi and Schumer discussed ripping it up...and he was the one that suggested that she pre-rip them. Only a man would think of that.
Many many years ago when I was young and stupid I cast a vote for one Democrat for US Senator—and it was just revealed recently the “honorable Senator” was being blackmailed by Jeffrey Epstein!
He seemed like such a nice guy. :-)

It is the sort of disunity exploited by those whose entire political capital consists of a list of demands to compel surrender just to shut them up. If you allow that to work, this is where you end up. What cures it is a hard lesson and the longer it goes on the harder that has to be. Losing an election only exacerbated it; losing two in a row is unlikely to do much more.
She has had a stroke and isn’t really all there these days.
She is a cat’s whisker away from full blown dementia.

Just like I don’t care about the president’s “tweets”.
I care about what they DO.
I see the good that Trump has done.
And I see how Pelosi ignored basic rights like Due Process.
That stuff is what matters.
actually for some of political mushy middle, it was a revelation (I think) which is why the DT video is so effective.
Yes there are idiots on each side (AOC, the squad, maxime walters etc) ... however, they expected the leadership to show some level of maturity. Between the last 2 SOTU they now know that Pelosi does not have it
