Officers usually take CGSC at the rank of MAJ, in order to be competitive for selection to LTC.
I took it on-line, a very painful process.
Also, the course is not classified. Parts may be FOUO, but that would be as highly classified as it gets.

I know that Trump had to wait until he was acquitted before the scumbag Alexander Vindman was fired from the NSC.
I hope we see more of these terminations by deep-state traitors.
And it would be icing on the cake to see them hauled out of their office handcuffed!!!!!
No one can “make” an officer take an assignment. They either accept the assignment unless they have an unshakable argument in which case they can request a change in assignment or request a revocation of the orders.
There is ample reason to court martial this guy and if they due a reduction in rank is a given, At that point his military career is over and if he is permitted to remain in the military he will never see a promotion.
Unless the rules have changed an officer who is passed over too many times for promotion is asked to resign.
Either way, this guy is done and so is his brother.
I know and it is going to get worse for them everyday.

Maybe his new job will be dishwasher in the cafeteria there.
He will be put in a place where they can keep an eye on him and he has no friends. Court martial is next.

True, but something tells me that Vindman will soon be told by the DOD that his career has ended.
Finally! Why was he still there? He should be court martialed and hanged for treason.
I attended in ‘75-76; although most was unclassified, there were a couple of segments that required TS/SIOP clearance. Don’t think the allied officers went to those sessions.
Since Vindman has already served 20 years (he was commissioned in 1999), he would be well advised to put in his retirement papers. Army Human Resources Command won’t have much use for a LTC who was fired by the Commander-in-Chief—unless he wants to lead the Detroit recruiting station, or teach ROTC at the Maine School of Truck Driving and Auto Body Repair.
And why didn’t we get a two-fer? His brother is an Army JAG, also assigned to the MSC (and reportedly) the source for the leaks from John Bolton’s manuscript to the press. Should have been two Vindman’s marched out of the White House today.
I’ll go waaay out on a limb and predict that Alexander Vindman won’t be on the next battalion commander’s list.
