Tomorrow night, President Donald Trump is set to give his final State of the Union address to the very Congress in the midst of impeaching him.
Why?
We were told by Democrats far and wide that Donald Trump was a threat to the republic and that he needed to be removed ASAP.
In early December, Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke very publicly of the dark threat sitting in 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
The presidents actions have seriously violated the Constitution, she somberly stated in an address at the Capitol.
Both Democrats and Republicans in Washington DC are playing politics. It is cynical and voters deserve better. No, it is not doomsday, but it is up to us to take a measure of these politicians and render our verdict on their behavior on election day.
“Tomorrow night, President Donald Trump is set to give his final State of the Union address”
“Final” stopped me from caring further.
Correction: Final State of the Union address for his first term. There’s going to be 4 more of these.....
“Tomorrow night, President Donald Trump is set to give his final State of the Union address...”
I quit reading right there.
This will be Trump’s final State of the Union to the 116th Congress. But, stay tuned for an even better one for the 117th Congress. It is sure to be epic!
Against my better judgement, I read the article.
Poor writing, never really getting to the point, weak conclusion, Trump Bad.
And those were the good parts.
Remarks regarding the demise of the Trump Administration are greatly exaggerated. Donald J. Trump will leave office on January 20, 2025, in the conventional manner - he shall be succeeded in office by the next elected President.
There is an old adage in politics - you can’t beat somebody with nobody. And a lot of nobodies relative to that force of nature, Donald Trump, have illusions about somehow overcoming fate and cold facts, and displacing him from office.
Not by electoral defeat, nor by chicanery and calumny, will President Trump be dislodged before his second term is finished.
May his health hold up and the Secret Service be ever alert.
I'll bet they have some real beauts on that editorial board.
Too many annoying ads never got to the article.
FOUR MORE YEARS OF MAKING AMERICA GREAT!
My sister used to live in Lowell.
All a bunch of little Markeys.
Thanks for suffering through the article in order to report. ..you’re a true solider. ....
Sorry but that was a remarkably stupid statement on your part.
There is zero moral, or intellectual, equivalence between the Democrat Fascists aggressively trying to overturn the US Constitution and the GOP defending against their assault
Trying to posture as “above the fray” by blaming both sides is both intellectually imbecilic and morally cowardly.
I caught it too.
Final SOTU address... before the next four...
The speech goes on because Trump is president, he has done nothing wrong, and the democRats have shot their last bullet. It is over. He survived. They didnt!
That dumb ass Pelosi will have to sit there while the single most important man on the planet goes about doing the nations business, something she has failed to do herself at any time over the last 13 months.
What if we had an impeachment and nobody cared or took it seriously? Folks we now have the answer to that and that is: Trump reelected in 2020 and KAG continues!
I wish she would share with the little people down here in the mud what, exactly, the President did that violated the Constitution. From my perspective, it looks like he has been faithfully executing his Constitutional duties, and doing a great job at it.
Maybe it's because none of us little people are smart enough to understand those matters the way her ultra intelligent high and mighty Nanciness does.
And let's hope that the Deep State has not infiltrated the Secret Service.
When it becomes increasingly clear that none of the Democratic candidates can beat Trump in November, the danger that they will try to assassinate him gets greater. If they think he is another Hitler, or worse than Hitler...
Next year will bring a different Congress.
I liked Reagan (predicted with admiration - in 1967 - he was going to be Governor of California, and later President) but I think it was during his time that using audience guests as political props during the state of the union speech began (as far as I can remember).
Since then, under all Presidents the speeches have descended more into political speeches and less statesman like, in my opinion. I think it was after H.W. Bush’s first one that I quit watching except for getting a snippet that confirmed my opinion of the speeches and switching it off.
For me the speeches are not an “accomplishment” of any president. They - the POTUS - should write a statement to Congress and everyone get on with doing the business of actually getting things done.
To me they are another part of the circus all politics has become.
