Tomorrow night, President Donald Trump is set to give his final State of the Union address to the very Congress in the midst of impeaching him.
Why?
We were told by Democrats far and wide that Donald Trump was a threat to the republic and that he needed to be removed ASAP.
In early December, Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke very publicly of the dark threat sitting in 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
The presidents actions have seriously violated the Constitution, she somberly stated in an address at the Capitol.
As a reminder that the gamesmanship in Washington DC goes both ways Democrats were not invited to the bill signing.
This statement seems to result from superficial and shoddy analysis.
President Trump has a keen sense of accountability and justice. The dems held up USMCA for the sake of their childish antics. They didnt deserve to be anywhere near the signing of the bill.
Very different from a simple political move.
I have yet to see a speck of the political in anything Trump has done.

Editorial is afraid to give their name. Says much.
Annoying site, too. Obviously written built by numbskulls.
And, Ed Itorial, its Trumps 4th of 12 SOTUs.
Yeah and it’s kind of crazy to group a signing ceremony snub with a fake impeachment. If you’re gonna be all “the cynicism goes both ways” you should at least have examples from both sides that are somewhat comparable. These things are orders of magnitude apart.
The character of the quests, any of them, is not my point.
They are used in the speeches as political props. I don’t like what the practice has done to the speeches - made them MORE political and less statesman like.
Corrected
"Madam Speaker, Mr. Vice President, Members of Congress, the First Lady of the United States, and my fellow Americans:"
"STILL HERE!!!"
“”January 20, 2025, in the conventional manner - he shall be succeeded in office by the next elected President.””
Who will be a democrat - looking at the history since FDR - I don’t know if there’s anyone at FR who would remember a president before FDR... It all looks contrived when you look at the succeeding party. We had a death in 1945 and 1963 and resignation in 1974 which changed the order. GHW Bush was the only exception I see when he succeeded RR - both same party.
32 Franklin D. Roosevelt 1933 1945 Democrat
33 Harry S. Truman 1945 1953 Democrat
34 Dwight D. Eisenhower 1953 1961 Republican
35 John F. Kennedy 1961 1963 Democrat
36 Lyndon B. Johnson 1963 1969 Democrat
37 Richard M. Nixon 1969 1974 Republican
38 Gerald R. Ford 1974 1977 Republican
39 Jimmy Carter 1977 1981 Democrat
40 Ronald Reagan 1981 1989 Republican
41 George Bush 1989 1993 Republican
42 Bill Clinton 1993 2001 Democrat
43 George W. Bush 2001 2009 Republican
44 Barack H. Obama 2009 2017 Democrat
45 Donald Trump 2017 Present Republican
Excellent - I would never have remembered that. Certainly the airliner crash but not WHO made the rescue that was shown on TV. Guess I wasn’t paying attention that year to the SOTU...
The article at the site doesn’t include the word “final” in it.
Have they already changed it or did it get there some other way?
Ha, I never actually went to the article.
Perhaps freedomlover from Post #6 will remember.
Pelosi held up the bill for almost a year. USMCA passed with bipartisan support by a vote of 385 (Democratic 193, Republican 192)41 (Democratic 38, Republican 2, Independent 1).
You can call it gamesmanship not to invite Pelosi, et.al., but I call it legitimate payback for holding up this legislation. Trump could have used the additional leverage in his China trade deal if the USMCA had been passed before. There is no moral equivalency between the Dems and Reps. The Democrats are the evil party while the GOP is the stupid party.
