I don’t know. But if it was flying low and slow enough, it might have been masked by or appeared as part of the “ground clutter.”
The Hellfire has been around for 35+ years. They built them at a Rockwell facility about 15 miles from here back in the 1980s. My BIL used to work there. I used to have a cool marketing poster illustration showing a Soviet river crossing, and Hellfires being fired from a jeep pintle mount, from attack helicopters, from a tripod on the ground, etc.
It was basically an integral part of the AH-64 weapons system, meant to take out mass formations of Soviet tanks coming through the Fulda gap. It has been a very effective weapon.
UAVs were invented by the Israelis. After seeing their performance in the first Lebanon War, we knew we had to have them.
They’re lethally effective in that the enemy has little or no advance warning they’re there.
You would think Soleimani wouldn’t have made the mistake of being out in the open. It left him no chance to escape. Go figure.

With such a small radar signature anyway, and if their ATC works with civilian radar versus military, then not likely.
Civilian ATC radar mostly depicts transponders - skin paints on a small target are difficult to see.
One error in the article is stating the Hellfire flies at 230 MPH. It’s actually Mach 1.3, or 995 MPH. Just a minor mistake... :-P
Someone posted that the coffin used at his funeral only needed one man to carry it - it was a two gallon Igloo cooler.

Listening to a podcast yesterday “War Room: Impeachment” with Raheem Kassam, Steve Bannon, & Jason Miller. Tom Fitton was sitting in for Jason. Anyway, I like Raheem - he’s pretty ‘up’ on stuff & he said Soleimani had gotten arrogant & audacious & just flew into the airport like he was the Big Cheese (my description). He didn’t think anyone had the balls (especially Trump ... look at Khomenini’s tweet “you can’t do anything”) to take him out, especially not in Baghdad. I just wish that a second before he was hit with the missile with his name on it, Trump’s face could have flashed before his eyes saying “gotcha’!” Raheem also went into some detail as to what a total snake this guy was - Trump made a decision many before had passed up.

One more reason why Trump is so effective in killing these vipers - he doesn’t tell the Democrats/Left who will leak/tip off our enemies. Someone made the comment that “Kerry’s contact list is getting shorter by the hour”!! I’m sure this is VERY true - he should be strung up for treason, along with a bunch of other Obama-Biden Admin actors & those from the current crop of pro-Iran anti-American Dems/media. A Gulf newspaper reported the strike involved modified Hellfire R9X ‘Ninja’ missiles, which have warheads with pop-out spinning blades designed to minimise collateral damage.
Instead of exploding, the missile is armed with six long blades that extend just before impact, effectively shredding their targets.
