Rand hopes there will be escalation, and the US will sustain huge casualties, so he can run again in 2024 and fulfill Ron’s hopes that the ostrich will replace the eagle as the national bird. I expect he’ll be wrong, simply because Iran is literally weak and can’t afford to take a lot of damage. It’s obvious from Rand’s rhetoric that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
You don’t negotiate peace until the other side gives up. Kill the leaders and the replacements give up. If they don’t, they need new replacements.
