Al Qods killed and tortured many Iranians - even women and small children.

Omar threatens to ‘step in and stop’ Trump following Soleimani killing
Rep. Ilhan Omar accused President Trump of trying to create a “distraction” by killing Gen. Qassim Soleimani in an attempt to ignite a war with Iran.
“So what if Trump wants war, knows this leads to war and needs the distraction?” the Minnesota Democrat said Thursday on Twitter. “Real question is, will those with congressional authority step in and stop him? I know I will.”
So what if Trump wants war, knows this leads to war and needs the distraction?

Funny how those air attacks just happened on their own. Almost kinda like those bombs had a mind of their own :-)

[This is really really going to rile the Ayatollah who Sulimani was especially close to.....not to mention the members of the revolutionary guard who hold Sulimani him in high regard, (like a Godhead)..... This is really serious stuff....I don’t think they’re going to still for this attack on their Godhead...Sulimani controlled everything militarily second only to the Ayatollah. ]
While it might rile Khamenei, it will also show him that Trump has no compunction about targeting top level Iranian leaders, including the No. 2 guy. That target list presumably includes Khamenei himself. Using the F-22, combined with extended range JDAM’s, Khamenei could be killed while he’s having a meal with his family. Since anything he does might affect his personal well-being, that might moderate the kinds of things he does. Basically, Trump is holding Khamenei and his family hostage.

[HOLY COW!
President Trump delivers YUGEEEEEEE on his threat!
This is a major victory. No other way to put it.]
I’d call it a major escalation, to match Iran’s escalation in attacking the Embassy. What transpires after this could be major fireworks (and the oil markets are responding accordingly) or a damp squib. The key development is that Trump is willing to target Iran’s #2. That presumably means he might be willing to target Iran’s #1 guy, Khamenei. That will have Khamenei worrying that he might get hit by a JDAM while dining with his family. And that will affect the kinds of decisions he makes.

I keep hearing he’s perhaps the second most powerful guy in Iran. I’d say that’s like Iran targeting Pence or Pelosi. But I agree it’s a big deal.

[I am glad Jimmy Carter lived long enough to see what a real president should have done to Iran when the attacked the US embassy. I am glad I lived long enough to see it also.]
#MeToo. Between the Panama Canal thing and forcing the Shah to abdicate, Carter was quite possibly the worst president ever. Obama was a close second, but he gave up no real estate, as humiliating as the capture and parading of the riverine patrol was.
