I think the MSM and dems wanted Trump to “fight” impeachment, and maybe his strategery was to basically ignore it. Why fight against a false allegation, if you show you ae fighting you must be guilty right? Trump really just dismissed the impeachment thing and kept trucking

Nero was criticized by contemporaries because of his fondness for singing and playing the cithara. It was said by Tacitus and Suetonius that he sang the “Sack of Ilium” during the catastrophic fire in Rome (the source of the “fiddling while Rome burned” legend).

Suetonius also said that Nero started the fire himself, because he wanted to build a big palace on the property where the fire started. He then blamed the Christians, to cover his tracks.

Can tell you for a fact that most of San Francisco thought OJ was innocent, I felt like Copernicus at the time. My office had dozens of people standing around TVs during the acquittal cheering while I was aghast that he got off.

Same feeling I have with “global warming” and this whole “Orange Man Bad” witch hunt.

The statements in the post confirm that all those poor misguided children are brain washed robots who live in the same bubble and parrot each others’chatter. Education and common sense are both lacking. Feel sorry for them.

They know it, too. But they were on camera trying to sway the audience (such as it is).

Emotion. Feelz. They _can_ be contagious, but, like humor, there must be some element of truth in it. Something people can relate to from their own experience.

These clowns are not relatable, except they cause us all to remember the histrionic, hyperbolic drama queens of both biological genders who we all knew in elementary school. You know: the ones who ended their performance jumping up and down with reddened, contorted faces, screaming and calling names.

They are not stupid. They are not clueless. They _are _ professional manipulators and this is them plying their trade.

Sounds like the “journalists” think they are in charge.
Well, they would. Journalists all have similar incentives, and the AP “wire” - and wire services generally - constitute virtual meetings which have dominated journalism since before the Civil War. Consequently journalists’ behavior is just what Adam Smith predicted when he wrote that
People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices.
And what is journalism’s incentive?
The desire of being believed, the desire of persuading, of leading and directing other people, seems to be one of the strongest of all our natural desires. — Adam Smith, Theory of Moral Sentiments

The journalism cartel’s “conspiracy against the public” lies in its propaganda campaign to the effect that "journalists are objective.” This claim is inherently wrong, in that objectivity is a (laudable) goal but not a state of being. Consequently “journalists are objective” is actually a demand that all journalists go along and get along with the journalism cartel ideologically (it is only by breaking from journalism’s consensus that a journalist is in danger of being drummed out of the profession as “not objective, not a journalist).

Thus, just as “liberal” (as well as “progressive” and “moderate” and centrist”) means in the mouth of a journalist “in conformity with journalism’s orthodoxy and thus qualified to be a journalist,” “objective” means exactly the same thing but only (and always) is applied to actual working journalists.

All Democrats now are “liberals” - and the difference between “liberals” and “objective journalists” is simply the fact of journalists’ employment and the fact that the appellation “objective” rather than “liberal" is systematically applied to working journalists.

... a fight with Republicans who have “machine guns.”

What great irony. If the Dems get ticked off enough with us, they will be running to the gun stores and complaining about background checks, waiting periods, weapons bans, etc.

We could be on the verge of a re-birth of the Second Amendment. Will support of the Second Amendment become a pillar of the Democrat Party? Will their progressive choices for Supreme Court Justices have to change their opinions?
