A reminder that, according to the article, the donation to SPLC was documented on a 2017 form 990.

SPLC is the worst of the worst. CFA hired a Hitlery idiot to lead their charity foundation and he’s going to cost them their company.

It is hard to believe they would go this far the other way. Of all the sellouts the SPLC!? You couldn’t pick a bigger wedge.

Write or call them to tell them your mind. I have been there maybe 6-7 times. It was good, a bit overpriced, but I will go elsewhere now. I will write them and say that. Here is their address: Chick fil A Corporate Office Address: 5200 Buffington Rd Atlanta, GA 30349 United States. Chick fil A Corporate Office Phone Number Toll Free: 1-(404) 765-8038. Chick fil A Corporate Office Fax Number Details: (404) 765-8012. Chick fil A Corporate Office Email Address: NA.

It’s stunning that they’d do something so self sabotaging. And if they were going to do it, why just a $2500 donation? The decision to donate to SPLC would be made at high levels and would not be done lightly. It seems odd that they’d do something that big in such a small way, if that makes sense. I almost think it was some low level person freelancing a bit with small money that they knew wouldn’t get much scrutiny from management. Maybe a mole, maybe someone trying to damage the company, maybe a nut.

Really sad; and incredibly stupid!. Out of ignorance, they are spitting in the face of their clientele, to embrace an organization that is anti-American to its very core!!

Bigot In The Argument

Please feel free to quote my article in print or orally to anyone connected to Chic-fil-A. I will, however, admit that I have no clue why they would seek to self-destruct in this manner. My one visit to one of their local outlets, was perfectly enjoyable. One can only suspect that one of the forked tongue slimes has whispered a very sick message into a susceptible ear! (Admittedly, that is only a guess; but the methodology is as old as Genesis.)

Well this is a complete 180. They just opened here in Toronto and I managed to visit once to satisfy my curiosity. I said the food was good but a little on the pricey side. I don’t go to fast food places very often so I haven’t been back but I said at the time I would happily go again whenever it was convenient. If they are indeed donating to the SPLC it will never be convenient.

Maybe a mole, maybe someone trying to damage the company, maybe a nut.

Here’s the problem. There has been 0 denial or explanation. I can only conclude steady year to year growth and an extremely loyal customer base is not as important as a few brain washed students protesting.

Search for “food-restaurants” and then find a moderate or conservative restaurant of your choice.

Let me put it this way. I went for the first time a couple of months ago out of curiosity. CFA threads here on FR were a constant and of course lots of high praise for them. I had no illusions to this hype but I did want to try them to see what the fuss was about. The food is good for a fast food place but not life changing. They seem to be very busy and I am sure profitable. If you can make a good chicken sandwich at home you can probably duplicate the experience. The only unique thing for them is that they close on Sundays. The threads also emphasized that the staff seemed happy and polite. Compared to maybe other fast food places that may be a plus but my limited experience with fast food is that most of them are like that where I go. They are in the upper tier of the fast food universe but that is about it. Even a lower tier sit down restaurant would probably top it.

I never heard any music in any of the Chick Fil As I have ever been to, must be a local thing for you.

Being closed on Sunday isn’t exactly new to New Jersey, some areas of NJ still have the old blue laws that prevent malls from being open anyways (Paramus).

I think corporate was stupid to “step into this” and I stated before, Chick Fil A should separate its corporation from its foundation and keep the individual decisions on donations out of the corporate boardroom and let the foundation deal with it. To me, that would be smart.

This way it would isolate the foundation from whims of CEOs/marketing types.

did ya miss the massive controversy and ‘boycotts’ by the left over the issue?

Never even noticed, if they were protesting, they didn’t do a good job.

I mean, the one near Trenton is always packed, people have to park on the other side of a 4 lane avenue and walk over. The line for the drive though goes around the building and up the avenue as well. If Chick Fil A was this evil anti gay LBGTQpXYZ corporation nobody notified the highly conservative and christian residents of Trenton/Hamilton New Jersey, who vote overwhelmingly for Obama and Clinton of this fact.

It was implied and well known- why do you think so many conservatives came to their rescue when the left did their pathetic boycott?

They did a Chick Fil A day after that went down and gave away free chicken sandwiches and got everybody hook on them.

The gay bullsheetrock was secondary and nobody really cared about it, except extreme leftists, but they are never happy about anything anyways.

Initially I wondered if the SPLC donation was a Jesse Jackson style extortion plot, but the payout was only $2500.

Sure is sad for CFA to lose so much credibility over about 30 seconds worth of profit.

I was somewhat ambivalent about the initial story. Part of it is the right of a private company to spend their foundation money any way they wish and part of it was my supposition that the whole controversy was just SJW’s being SJW’s and lying about everything. But supporting SPLC changes the game a lot.

Dan Cathy has a choice to make. He needs to make a very strong public statement and get rid of the staff and executives who control the foundation, or he should immediately sell the company and cash out.

I’ve had a very small personal correspondence with him and left impressed. I hope he does the right thing (choice one)

Here, in the southern part of the state, most stores and restaurants are open on Sundays.

Chick Fil A should separate its corporation from its foundation and keep the individual decisions on donations out of the corporate boardroom

Agreed!

Some other freepers also were hesitant to believe the CFA story. The media does spin stories. But now, the story is looking pretty clear.

Yes, come to think of it, $2500 would be a small payout for extortion.

But to donate anything to SPLC and then never contact FRC after the shooting...? That was just cold.
