A Wisconsin man was founding living in an undetected underground bunk in the Milwaukee woods for years with a dog and a stockpile of weapons and ammunition.

Deputies discovered hermit Geoffrey Goff's odd, hidden abode on Wednesday after responding to a call of shots fired.

After entering the 8-foot-by-8-foot bunker - which was also 20-feet-long - the deputies found an arsenal of weapons including two shotguns, a rifle, a handgun, three knives, ammo and a bow with arrows fashioned from “snowplow stakes,” Milwaukee County Sheriff Earnell Lucas said at a news conference Friday.

That is a really wimpy “arsenal”

And the so-called “news” media wonders why nobody believes them anymore.

Estabrook Park is smack dab in the middle of residential areas along the Milwaukee river parkway. Plenty of bike trails, walking paths, a big playground and a beer garden (assuming its closed now).

As isolated as he may have been in his little area of the woods discharging a weapon into the river wasn’t an in the middle of nowhere thing.

Glad that the first time he thought discharging a weapon because he was angry he did it into the river itself. No guarantee that the next time he did it wasn’t into the beer garden because they were bothering his peace and quiet.

Bet he had enough food to be labeled a “hoarder”. By “journalism” standards, should only take 3 cans of chicken noodle soup to qualify.

two shotguns, a rifle, a handgun

This makes pretty well every rural landowner west of the Mississippi guilty of hoarding an arsenal of weapons. Just getting sillier and sillier.

To be sure muzzleloader owners and their supply of black powder are probably all considered guilty of having bomb making materials too.

This park is within the immediate inner suburb of Whitefish Bay/Shorewood the first areas north of the Milwaukee city limits. It is a high population area.

I’m glad they got him. He had no business discharging a weapon because his dog was missing in the area he was. He may be a survivalist but he sure is hell wasn’t a responsible gun owner in this situation.

He should have been shitting on the sidewalk, peeing on the road as any responsible immigrant does. Sheesh. Ingrate.

Just bringing to your attention (since I lived in the area previously) that this park is within the highly populated first ring suburb just north of the city limits.

Easy to forget where you are when you have your own little “micro world” away from the rat race. Had this guy moved out of the middle of town and out to the country be for he did this setup he would have been alright.

No worries, it is a hobby I enjoy anyways. I actually enjoyed it and learned a few things from it. I have already been digging into several ancient places around the world since 3:30 this morning. Was following the silk road route and towns west to east from the Black sea through Georgia, Azerbaijan and beyond the Caspian sea east. :)

“Saw off” Double barrel shotgun. It is a double barrelled “pistol”. Definitely illegal.

Yep, it would not have taken much further out for him to be good to go. I suppose he was trying to stay closer to resources I guess. Probably panhandled downtown where the odds are much better. Panhandling is always better downtown.
