I’m sorry but you cannot presume to know what is in Kim Kardashian West’s heart. She’s the one who matters. Being Armenian, her background is Orthodox and I recently read that all 4 West children were baptized in the mother church in Armenia. No one is more Christian than the Orthodox IMO.

Jesus mentioned it was harder for a camel to go through the eye of the needle than a rich man getting in to the Kingdom. Kanye is worth about a quarter billion. Once his albums don’t sell we’ll see if he holds strong.

Dylan is now in a synagogue and hasn’t shown anything since that album. Most musicians go through their gospel phase and everyone buys their albums but few stay the course. I hope it’s different for Kanye.

There’s nothing wrong with prosperity, or with teaching people to think in ways that lead to it.

I don’t know much about Osteen, but he seems to touch a lot of people. He also seems to be teaching a version of what was originally called ‘New Thought’ or ‘Religious Science’. These ideas were formulated by very God-fearing men, far over a century ago, who didn’t see a conflict between being Christian, and seeking material success and well-being in life.

Seeking these things doesn’t mean that we are not also seeking ‘the Kingdom’.

"...our walk with the Lord is OURS ALONE. What God has for Kanye or Donald J Trump is NOT what He has for me or you. I have also seen NON-prosperity preachers guilt Christians into giving or doing and they gave time or money when they shouldn’t have. Bottom line: Walk close with the Lord and do what HE wants you to do. But that takes honesty and humility."

Excellent comment.

I think it’s true and he can be an agent of so much change.

I know enough.

No you don't. Watch some of his services online and then come back and tell me he's a charlatan and not a sincere heart-felt Christian pastor.

Nothing wrong with prosperity. However, Osteen and some others like him in Mega churches promote and focus more on self-improvement, personal finances, and positive thinking than on repentance from sin, sanctification, and the atoning work of Jesus Christ. The Bible warns about the love of money.

Varied replies to my query. All appreciated.

Regarding Job: Pretty much why I took leave of the faith. I know the preaching but God torturing a faithful servant out of pride before Satan..

Not for me.

God did not ‘torture’ Job Coaster123. God ‘allowed’ satan to have limited access to Job in order to show what FAITH was. EVERYTHING Job lost in his anguish was restored by our Father in Heaven.

....and now Job lives with the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit forever.

....SMALL price to pay for eternal life in heaven.

If you are looking for reasons not to believe in Jesus risen from the dead...a perfect sacrifice for your sins.....you can do much better.

None of your ‘human reasoning’ will help on the day of Gods righteous judgement Coaster123....

...repent and return to Christ before it is to late. You may die TODAY....call upon Jesus the King today.

Our modern-day Pharisees don’t like the scriptures of the Gospel of the Grace of Christ like, “God who justifies the ungodly” (Romans 4:5). Same bunch Jesus encountered in his time. Self-righteous hypocrites. The only people Jesus severely rebuked.

you seem awfully bold supposing we all believe YOUR faith, with your scriptures in the tagline and such. Why, as an alleged man of faith, can’t you stand strong for a new Christian like Kanye? Why can’t you believe he’s telling the truth? Or is it that you got yours and everyone else is to be questioned?

The two are not mutually exclusive.

Also remember, Jesus before the cross was still preaching under the Old Covenant of the law which was abolished on the cross (Col 2:24). He was preaching to those who still thought they could keep the law which he precisely made impossible to keep.

Towards the end of his life John Lennon accepted Christ, but he began to buckle under the ridicule and pressure of his wife and friends. I often wonder how the Lord could have used him if he’d stayed solid and had not been murdered.

I don't think he's a charlatan. I think he's a huckster dressed as a carnival barker - along with that "don't-you-know-who-I-am" wife of his.

I'd love to see Osteen attempt to preach on ... it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.."(Luke 18:25)

If he did, I can't help thinking the emphasis would be on midget dwarf camels and super kingsize needles. Don't worry, folks, we absolutely can game the system!

I hope God helps him ignore all the “that’s-not-how-it’s-done” critics who have in their entire lives pointed precisely no one to Jesus.

The only individual in all the Gospels who refused Jesus' healing was the "rich young man".

Note the irony:

"And he went away sad, because he had many possessions."

BTW it was one of those lessons that so impressed people, that the episode is told three times: It appears in the Gospel of Matthew 19:16-30, the Gospel of Mark 10:17-31 and the Gospel of Luke 18:18-30
