Full title: Cleveland Browns' Myles Garrett suspended indefinitely after brawl with Steelers, teams fined $250G each

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was suspended indefinitely for his role in a brawl that took place at the end of Thursday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the league announced.

Garrett will be suspended “at a minimum for the remainder of the regular season and postseason and must meet with the commissioner’s office prior to a decision on his reinstatement, the league said in a statement Friday. He was also fined an undisclosed amount.

Garrett’s teammate Larry Ogunjobi and Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey were also suspended and fined.

Ogunbjobi has been suspended without pay for one game and fined an undisclosed amount for shoving Rudolph during the melee.

Pouncy received a three-game suspension and fined an undisclosed amount for “fighting, including punching and kicking an opponent.”

The NFL said more suspensions will be handed down.

No surprise here at all. Just another NFL player showing the world how much of a petty thug he is and why I stop watching the NFL a few years back even before socialist loving Kapernick did his anti-America crap

So anything that’s against the rules? All the helmet to helmet hits get prosecuted? Late hits? Again WHERE IS THE LINE? Best answer is: keep the cops out of it. We’ve got too many people getting arrested constantly in this country already.

“Seems maybe Rudolph may have started it by trying to rip off Garrett’s helmet first”

Rewind a little further, to Garrett’s initial late hit of the QB that started the whole thing.

“ The emasculated Announcer was squealing about the delicate condition of Viewers to ever see such a display and wished that it was OFF THE AIR.”

Right. And then they proceeded to show it 37 times.

I don’t have a dog in this fight, and I see Garrett didn’t swing at Rudolph until Rudolph ran up on him after the Steeler players were pushing Garrett off and things were cooling down. Rudolph appeared to be pretty hot; if he had let others handle this, things would have cooled down. I wouldn’t be surprised if Rudolph is fined or suspended.

Their was an infamous incident back in the 1990s involving NY Giants defensive tackle Keith Hamilton. During the course of a game, at the end of one particular play, he got up off the ground and gave an opposing player a hard kick in the "dice." It was almost comical to see how blatant it was. The opposing player crumpled to the turf like a wet noodle, and I think every official threw a flag as soon as it happened. The Giants were penalized 15 yards, and Hamilton was ejected from the game.

He was subject to a normal disciplinary hearing with the NFL that takes place after every ejection. Before the next game the NFL made a very curious announcement. They announced that no further disciplinary action would be taken. Remarkably, the league also announced that it was waiving the MANDATORY fine that is imposed on any player who is ejected from a game.

I asked a close friend of mine who was a long-time football fan about that seemingly bizarre chain of events. He knew immediately what had happened. He said: "The NFL reviewed the tape of the play and saw irrefutable evidence that the opposing player had attempted to cause a serious injury to Hamilton on the play."

Case closed. LOL.

Not Garrett’s first rodeo.

He has committed 3 prior attacks. One put a quarterback out for the whole season.

Part of the feral army we raised since the 60’s.

Rudolph needs to be suspended too. He’s no innocent in all of this.

This is far beyond unsportsmanlike conduct but the curious thing is there were several players involved and I am wondering with the tape footage they know who did what and why were the lot of the them ejected. It would have sent a very clear message. Even if it was half the squad. There are rules of conduct for a reason. FFS there are kids watching this stuff.

Garrett regardless, is an idiot. 8 seconds left, his team leading, takes quarterback down, QUARTERBACK may have done something out of anger, again a QUARTERBACK. Garrett is twice as big, even if Quarterback got him in the groin, laugh at his puny butt and tell him I will get you next time. He has cost his team the season for this stupid, stupid incident. He cost himself, his team, and the NFL.

“YES, Rudolph attempted to pull off Garrett’s helmet.

But, YES, Garrett THEN reacted, did the same and Succeeded.”

Garrett tackled Rudolph when he didn’t need to and pinned him to the ground before the rest happened.

I think Garrett should be banned for next season and perhaps for life. He could have killed Rudolph out of simple stupidity.

NFL and the NBA are both now playing "THUG BALL!"

Haven't watched an NFL game since Kaperdick started kneeling.

NBA's been boring as of late. I'm watching them a lot less.
