House Democrat Jeff Van Drew Signals He’s Not Voting for Pelosi’s Impeachment Bill

Rep. Jeff Van Drew (D-NJ) said Tuesday that he will likely vote against a resolution by House Democrats to formalize their secret impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump, prompting more uncertainly around whether Thursday’s expected vote will go on as planned.

Asked by NBC News reporter Alex Moe if he supports the measure, Van Drew replied: “I would imagine that I’m not voting for it.” Van Drew, whose district President Trump won in 2016, is among roughly a dozen House Democrats who oppose the impeachment inquiry. “I have long maintained the position that the impeachment or potential impeachment would not be good for Democrats or Republicans,” the lawmaker told Fox News in September.

One decent Democrat.

Nope, one RAT who knows where the cheese comes from, and is willing to compromise Marxist values to get re-elected.

How long will it take for Dems to threaten to kill this guy before he gives in

They’ll have the Clinton’s pay him a little visit. That will scare the living daylights out of anyone with a working brain.

.…..there are currently 431 breathing House Members. 197 are pubs and 234 are Dems. 51% of “members voting” =’s 220 votes rounded up a half vote.

So, the Dems need 23 fellow Dems to hang in their and not desert Pelosi to Impeach Trump. In an election year, and with garbage for their cause/evidence, and Trump stronger than acid rain with the electorate, it ain’t gonna happen if the current status quo on all things holds.

In a Senate trial, the few non RINO’s we have will go orgasmic subpoenaing and deposing Obama, Hillary, Comey, Lynch, Holder, Clapper, Brennan and others. This is why none of this is going to happen.

Pelosi is going to give a pass to the most vulnerable House Dems, just so long as she has enough total votes for a majority ...

If Nancy have the votes before she would have quickly gone for the kill shot. As it is, she has put together this mealy mouth weak sister resolution which still does not constitute the beginning of an impeachment process. That’s because she knows she doesn’t have the votes to Generate articles in the house.

She’s trying to taint the president and his administration without impacting the 25 or more districts where trump was clearly the winner and the Democrat won by claiming that he was not an anti trump Anti-republican type of Democrat.
The rainbow coalition is a coalition of extremes in keeping it together under these circumstances has completely destroyed Nancy’s credibility she is the speaker in name only. And the democrats when this fails will be the majority in name only because of their inner sectarian conflict they cannot be a true majority party.
It would take a miracle to stop trump from destroying them in the next election.

At first I thought he was a principled Congressman. Then I read this “I have long maintained the position that the impeachment or potential impeachment would not be good for Democrats or Republicans” and changed my mind.

Who gives a damn whether it’s good for either party? That’s not what’s important here or what is at stake with this shampeachment.

“One decent Democrat.”

Pure BS. She’s given permission to some of those in closely contested districts to vote “No.”

My thoughts also. They have wanted to impeach him since he won. If Nancy had the votes/support she would have done it instead of giving her little speech last month.

Like you said same thins goes with her weasley resolution they many or may not vote on Thursday.

Or one afraid of being voted out.

Trump won his district.

This underscores a Repubbie weakness. Dems are better at mobilizing voters for midterms.

“vulnerable House Democrats being given permission to vote against”

Pelosi will look weak if this happens.

Need more info to call him a decent democrat - story also says his district went for Trump....politicians take care of themselves with zero regard for right and wrong...

I think this is already factored into the Commiecrat strategy and doesn’t mean a trend that democrats will not vote for impeachment.

Democrats in districts won by Trump must think twice.

Perhaps there will be more.

For those of you who don't remember the vote on Obamacare (or weren't politically active then), Nancy will probably work the vote like this: During the Obamacare vote, she had all the Democrats who might be in political trouble if they voted for the bill stand near her. She then told those in least trouble to go vote for the bill. When the 218th vote was cast, she then released them to vote the way they wanted.

This will be the same - no Democrat will be allowed to vote NO on this resolution until it has enough votes to pass. Then you will see several of the final votes by Demonrats be NO.

It probably won't work - most (all?) of the Demonrats in vulnerable districts lost after the Obamacare fiasco.
