S. Korea in the sixties used human waste for fertilizer. I know not if they still do today. We had a railroad crossing between our compound, and Camp Red Cloud. This was between 1968-1968, and more than likely the event took place in ‘67 when one of those guys with the home made tiller trucks hauling a barrel of that stuff was hit by the commuter train just behind, and up the hill from our barracks. Stunk like HELL for about a month. SHEESH!

Another time my partner, and I pulled over a MSGT for speeding, but lucky him the stop was adjacent to a “honey pit” at a farm. We gave him a warning, and got the HELL out of there fast. Almost threw up the smell was so bad. Ruined the day.

In Germany our convoys often rolled past richly scented farm fields being fertilized by “s***slingers”. But that was animal manure which doesn’t hold a candle to human poo.

What about that English farmer who drove off trespassing protesters by circling them with his own s***slinger?
