In my 69 years, “futurists” have an unblemished record of being absolutely wrong about everything.
Well, there is a sure-fire solution for that. Just saying......
18. Kenneth Watt warned about a pending Ice Age in a speech. The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years, he declared. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.
Wait, I notice its much cooler here now than it was a month ago,
He might have been on to something,.
8. Peter Gunter, a North Texas State University professor, wrote in 1970, Demographers agree almost unanimously on the following grim timetable: by 1975 widespread famines will begin in India; these will spread by 1990 to include all of India, Pakistan, China and the Near East, Africa. By the year 2000, or conceivably sooner, South and Central America will exist under famine conditions
.By the year 2000, thirty years from now, the entire world, with the exception of Western Europe, North America, and Australia, will be in famine.
The solution is Soylent Green.
FDA laws will have to be changes to allow more bug parts. And how do we know those parts allowed are crickets, and not cockroaches.
SPJNK is the solution.
Reminds me of the chicken fried steak my dad got at the American Cafe in Roswell NM way back in 1959 or 60. He puked all the way home.
Even the hamburgers for us kids were bad.
Well that’s one futurist, I’ll never listen too. Total incompetent if he thinks that’s going to happen.
I heard this same pitch when I was a wee lad in the 1970s.
There is a bit of a sting on the palate...
Quite the jump from pepperoni. Don’t think I’ll hop right on that bandwagon.
“Parts is parts.”
While driving ?
Never had a ‘chicken fried steak’
“People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction. And all you can talk about is money and fairy-tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you!”

Ping.
I’m the lucky one. I’ll be dead within twenty years. Maybe even five.
Problem: with the cows gone, how can you make pizzas without cheese? Ponder that.
As John McLaughlin used to say, the great thing about predictions is that everyone forgets them by the time the next show appears. So you can say whatever you like and the results don’t really matter.
Most of these “futurists” have qualifications (and a track record) no better than fortune tellers
