It is way past time for a third viable party. I am not sure the Republic has enough time left.

Should Mr. Trump be removed from office, it will put a nail in the coffin of the GOP. Scary thing is that is it might also be the death of the Republic as we know it.

I just can’t believe that the GOPE/Never Trumpers don’t understand that. Surely they can’t believe there will be any more than 10% of the rank and file that will stay with them.

But who knows, I was one who voted for the lesser of two evils for many years. Quit that practice with the advent of McRomney and the Cain Muntiny.

They needed 67 senators to override the veto .... not even close.

Probably none.They are just concerned about the kickbacks from the defense contractors they won’t be getting. Nor have any one of them volunteered to go to Syria themselves and fight.

Lisa Murkowski, Rand Paul, Rob Portman, Mitt Romney, Marco Rubio, Pat Toomey and Roger Wicker.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All Bush League Republicans.
They want to keep the borders open and complete the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA) with amnesty.
Every time I start to find reason to respect Rand Paul he sells out and sends me back without passing go and without collecting $200. Unbelievable Rino. He is a fraud, a fraud, fraud!
“Under the National Emergencies Act, a resolution ending the declaration needed only a simple majority to clear the Senate, making it likely to be approved. But underscoring the broad swath of concern about Trump’s actions among the Senate GOP caucus, 11 Republican senators voted to nix the declaration.”
I’m not following. I thought a two-thirds majority in the Senate was required. They got a simple majority but that didn’t override Trump’s declaration.
Also, the headline says 10 rinos voted to end the declaration but the excerpt only listed 7.
They swap around whose turn it is to stab the citizens in the back depending on who has to run for re-election.
That’s the only reason Flimsey Grahamnesty and John Cornyn are on this list.
The National Emergencies Act (NEA) (Pub.L. 94–412, 90 Stat. 1255, enacted September 14, 1976, codified at 50 U.S.C. § 1601–1651) is a United States federal law passed to end all previous national emergencies and to formalize the emergency powers of the President.
The Act empowers the President to activate special powers during a crisis but imposes certain procedural formalities when invoking such powers. The perceived need for the law arose from the scope and number of laws granting special powers to the executive in times of national emergency. Congress can terminate an emergency declaration with a joint resolution signed into law. Powers available under this Act are limited to the 136 emergency powers Congress has defined by law.
The legislation was signed by President Gerald Ford on September 14, 1976. As of February 2019, 59 national emergencies have been declared, more than 30 of which remain in effect.
So I assume that the President could veto the resolution, but then it goes back to both Houses of Congress to override, which requires a two-thirds vote in each Chamber.
What’s Rand Paul doing there?
It's actually the reasonable libertarian position, which is that Congress shouldn't abdicate its appropriations authority and responsibility and should specifically appropriate the money instead. It's borderline make-believe fairy talish, but it's sort of honest in a quaint naive kind of way.
And why did not the other 41 Republicans filibuster it and demand a super-majority of 60 votes like the Democrats do on all of the votes?
Thx for listing the other 3. We should know all of them. We need to vote in different.....REAL.....Republicans!! We should flood their phone lines and emails with our disapproval of their actions and attitudes. We especially need to get RID of Mitt Romney, who is just another egotistical McCain!! Mitt infects others with his decrepit, deceived mind. Knew Mitt could never be trusted!!!! He hides his evil-intending heart behind his meek little smile and lying puppy dog eyes, thinking everyone’s gonna love him cuz he’s just so mild. 🤮He’s just Pelosi’s mirror!! 🤮🤮🤮
This is why they say politics makes strange bedfellows. Paul is a libertarian, so voting with his stated principles.
Unfortunately, Ohio does not have a Republican Senator. I read an editorial Portman write a couple weeks ago about traveling Ohio and meeting with constituents, and he then went on to list Ohioans top concerns. No mention. Of illegal immigration in his editorial even though I hear much from real Republican about ending illegal immigration. Me thinks Portman just holed up with a Bunch of RINOs and is completely out of touch.
