I work in downtown Minneapolis - right on Nicollet Mall. Minnesota Freepers know where this. I’m only a few blocks from Target Center.
We’ve been warned about sizable traffic jams in the downtown area. We were also told:
“Stay focused on what’s going on around you while walking around downtown on Thursday and maintain situational awareness. Be aware of any posted signage and pay attention to alerts from security and police”
I’ve heard rumors bandied around about many protestors coming into the downtown area. Obviously, you can’t rule out that Antifa elements and other troublemakers will be present.
I do fear that people leaving the event may be targeted by Antifa members as they head back to their cars. I am somewhat fearful of some kind of chaos breaking out.
On a plus note, it’s expected to be rainy and cool tomorrow. Hopefully, that’ll dampen down (no pun intended) the troublemaker element.
Remember the neo Facists rioted in St Paul when the GOP Convention was held there. They have only gotten worse in the decade since then.
