‘The Battle Lines Are Drawn’: 231 House Democrats Vote to Proceed with Impeachment of Donald Trump

Every single member of the Democrat conference in the House of Representatives who voted on Wednesday went on the record backing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s extraordinary move earlier this week to open an impeachment inquiry via press conference, effectively confirming it is the sense of all 231 of them who voted with Pelosi that they intend to support impeaching President Donald Trump.

“The battle lines are drawn,” a senior House GOP aide directly involved in the effort to expose Democrats on the floor with recorded votes told Breitbart News on Wednesday evening. “We now know where every member of the House is on impeachment. And we know it is purely partisan.

Oh, yes we do. We want these imbeciles to go forward. Take this thing all the way.

President Trump’s legal team will be able to take their *own* depositions and do their *own* discovery. The dems want none of that.

They are playing to their base, nothing more. Impeaching and removal is the last thing these morons want. They would end up with a President Pence.

There is also no chance that a full bore impeachment trial would conclude by November, 2020.

The dems have been lightning one exploding cigar after another. Keep them well supplied with matches.

They did defend Kavanaugh but they let Feinstein’s fabrications go without holding her accountable for deceiving the committee and the country! In fact, not one person was ever held accountable for their lies.

I strongly suspect that some of the Republicans would have quickly turned against Kavanaugh with the right sequence of “convincing” lies. The Republicans are always inclined to retreat.

But more to the point, do the Republicans ever mount an offensive on anything? They are weakness personified.

This is an inquiry in order to dredge something up on him they don’t presently have.

And why not keep dredging up more fake dirt? Bagpipe Bob will never hold them accountable. There are no consequences. Only rewards.

If we can’t change things with elections we will only have one other option left.

Most Republicans wouldn’t even get off their comfortable couches to participate in Tea Party events. By and large they are a very passive lot.

Suggestions of uprisings and revolts amuse me. Never going to happen in these here United States where there’s an abundance of talk and a scarcity of action.

Republican politicians are weak and most of their voters are gullible.

And yes, I attended and financially supported many Tea Party events and causes.

That’s largely because Dems are in junior high mentally.

Grounds? Pray tell.

I am at a loss where winning an election is a high crime or misdemeanor. Perhaps treason against the Glorious Peoples?

That was just a “sense” vote....

No, it wasn't even that.

There was a sense vote yesterday on the whistle-blower complaint, but this wasn't that.

What this is is the usual no-means-yes type of chicanery that we've become used to.

This was a vote on a motion to table a resolution submitted by Kevin McCarthy:

Resolved: That the House of Representatives disapproves of the actions of the Speaker of the House, Mrs. Pelosi of California, to initiate an impeachment inquiry against the duly elected President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.
The House vote was to table McCarthy's motion against Pelosi's unilateral declaration of an impeachment inquiry without a full House vote.

Breitbart is saying that the House implied a vote to proceed with an impeachment inquiry by blocking McCarthy's vote of disapproval of Pelosi, without having to actually vote in the affirmative to launch an impeachment inquiry.

Straight out of the Constitution. The House has sole authority to determine the nature of the crime. No Constitutional limit or boundary whatsoever is put on what may be considered a “high crime or misdemeanor.” Realize jay-walking is a misdemeanor. So the Constitution left it entirely up to the House to determine whether behavior is a crime.

Up till now, we’ve had two cases where the behavior was not in doubt: both Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton committed real crimes (Obstruction, and Perjury).

Wake me when the shooting starts. They cannot be dealt with and have lost all trust. It will never be regained now.

the actual, for real “whistleblower” in this whole circumstance is the President and this retributive show trial being orchestrated in the House is about Federal retribution upon a whistleblower (President Trump) for having shone the light of day upon their treasonous, seditious conniving
