Reporters Fawn Over Greta Thunberg Twitter Response to Trump

Reporters fawned Tuesday over 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg's response to a sarcastic tweet from President Donald Trump.

"She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future," Trump tweeted after Thunberg warned the U.N. of a coming "mass extinction."

She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see! https://t.co/1tQG6QcVKO

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 24, 2019

In response, Thunberg changed her Twitter bio Tuesday to read, "A very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future." The move delighted reporters, who declared the young woman had gotten the best of the president.

"Well played," CBS News reporter Weijia Jiang said in a tweet that was later retweeted by CNN's Jim Acosta.

New York Times reporter Astead W. Herndon, Yahoo News reporter Dylan Stableford, and MSNBC producer Michael Del Moro also weighed in.

Liberal outlets such as Vanity Fair and the Guardian likewise crowed "Greta Thunberg Is Officially Better At Twitter Than Trump" and "Greta Thunberg turns tables on Trump and quotes his mockery in new Twitter bio."

CNN's Chris Cillizza weighed in on air, saying :

"She changed her Twitter bio to ‘A very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future.' Which honestly is an A-plus troll of the president."

This little useful idiot and her handlers have a bigger issue to worry about than climate. The muslims in her country will ruin her future much faster than any climate change ever could.

Seems like rather a lame response to me. She needs a better PR team.

The question is if she truly meant what she said in her climate speech or how she described herself on her twitter account? Either way it proves she is a liar.

As I wrote yesterday, the teen years are supposed to be a time when kids start to really sort out who they are, what they believe vs what their parents taught them. Perhaps most importantly, this (is/used to be) all within the safety net of a family and close friends. I am glad nobody gave me the time of day when I was 16, let alone recorded me and gave me a platform to spew whatever teenage wisdom entered my mind.

Perhaps THE primary job of a parent is to protect their child - often from predators, but sometimes from themself. If there is regret on the part of this girl, she won't have the benefit I have of obscurity. That is, her 16-year old self will be on YouTube etc forever. Forgetting about the future, look at what's happening now - She's getting torched and championed internationally.

Where are the parents? I read that her parents basically acquiesced to Greta's passions (they went vegan after Greta basically browbeat them about robbing her future). I am certain that having a special needs child isn't easy, but this is all the more reason why the parents should protect her. These parents are basically letting their child run the show. Maybe they feel good about their caring and nurturing parenting methods, but I find it reprehensible that they let her go off with disregard (or worse, a tacit OK) to her being targeted by the opposition OR predators.

Greta and her Asperger's Syndrome is a child celebrity, and her 15-mins will soon be up. The smart tactic would have been to attack the adults and bemoan the morals of statists who use children as virtual human shields. I bet you the parents, if they instead of their daughter, were taking fire, would start unraveling and say stuff like "shouldn't you be attacking our daughter?"

I get it...let's use Alinsky on them, 3D chess, no prisoners etc...but when a child's parents aren't protecting their child from harm, I'd rather shine light on the weak and effective parenting. THAT, to me, is the real story here..how the environmentalist movement has lowered itself (if that was possible) to use a special needs child to further their movement with total disregard to her safety and inevitable memes etc of which she'll be the subject.

In response, Thunberg changed her Twitter bio Tuesday to read, "A very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future."

so she lacks insight about her pathological fears, obsessions, delusions, and anger issues.

Thank you. I read it yesterday but re-read it just now. Spot-on....this child needs to be loved and cared for and healed. The parents should know that their daughter will attract an enormous amount of opposition by going Big and public the way she has.

A kid like this won't be able to comprehend the WHY behind the anger and vitrol (which should be directed at her parents and handlers). All the media fawning won't grip her the way the negativity will. All Greta will see is that SHE IS HATED.

Shame on her parents and the environmentalists.

I think she hates him for stealing the lime-light, as much as for being the face of “climate denial.”

Trump is a builder ... he saw an abused young girl and chose to gift her a character building, self affirming perspective of herself. She accepted it. She may just turn on her abusers ... none of them talks to her like that lately, they’re too invested in making her the face of doom.

I hope she commits suicide at some point and soon. Really. She’s a vicious, snarling little half wit with a cabal of freedom hating, anti-capitalist Marxists and Socialists behind her. If this thing were ever allowed to have a child she’d bring it up to be more angry and bitter than she is.

"Wonder which “handler” came up with that reply."

So many democrats are plagiarists; Elizabeth Warren's recipes, Joe Biden's incidents of plagiarism both on the campaign trail and during his time at the Syracuse University College of Law. Obama's "Just Words" lifted from Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.
But, hey, brilliant!!!
