Utah's Mike Lee: Architect Behind Anti-American Immigration Bill
Patch ^ | Joe Guzzard

Posted on 09/24/2019 7:11:00 PM PDT by lone star annie

Too many elected officials in House, Senate don't support the Americans they were elected to represent

It's an appalling reality that in the entire U.S. Senate not one single member is willing to stand up for American workers.

From appointed Arizona Republican Martha McSally to Vermont Independent Bernie Sanders, possibly the world's only avowed socialist who won't defend his nation's workers, none stood up against the Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act, S. 386, and its continuum of foreign national tech workers, mostly Indian.

S. 386 would eliminate the 7 percent country cap provision that controls Green Card issuance to ensure that one country, or just a few countries, do not dominate the program. The current system limits India to about 20 percent of the employment-based work permits, mostly H-1B visas. But U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services predicts that if S. 386 were to become law, India would receive more than 90 percent of Green Cards for the next ten years. Green Cards are a step to U.S. citizenship.

Mike Lee swallows.
He should (if the world were just) be stripped of his citizenship and sent to Islamabad.
Yeah, I *know* that’s not in India. Just rubbing salt in the wound.

As far as I can tell, this isn't about the total number of immigrants, but rather from which countries they will come.

The author needs to explain why 100 skilled Indian immigrants are worse than 100 unskilled immigrants from somewhere else. Because without more infoemation, seems to me the 100 Indians are likely better than what we'd get otherwise.

We need at least a two year moratorium on immigration. We do not exist for the sole benefit of being Motel 6 for the whole world.

That’s because you don’t know any Indians. India continues to be a very tribal-based society.

Once elevated to manager status, they hire NO ONE but Indians.

Why do you think there is an ever-increasing need for more H1B for India?

As IT ranks become more-heavily Indian, more Indian workers are needed. Thanks to ‘diversity’ efforts by Corporate HR departments to advance ‘people of color’, these trends have become reality over the past 20 years.

Personally, I would prefer the Chinese. Once they get their US Citizenship, their Chinese citizenship is revoked, and they have to apply for a visa to visit China just like the rest of us.

We don’t need 1 single Indian IT worker here. American whites are being systematically discriminated against and if Trump signs this monstrosity he’s lost my vote.

You may well be right...but that has nothing to do with this particular bill.

If it’s simply a matter of “where from” and not “how many”, I don’t see a problem here. As a group, Indians are preferred to many other types of immigrants we seem to be attracting and admitting. Indians actively participate in all areas of social, economic, media, academia, etc. They are not known to indulge in religious extremism, crime or terrorist activities. I would like to see a higher proportion of republican voters among them, however. This may happen with the newer generations.

So ... you’re actually expecting that Lee’s pro-immigration Bill will result in a REDUCTION in non-Indian immigrants exactly offsetting an INCREASE in Indian immigrants. Are you REALLY that foolish and that GULLIBLE?

Partner, we have a lot of Rino Republicans that will treat Mexicans and other latin americans are treated better than legitimate American citizens.

We need to stop HIB visas into the U.S. since most Indians are members of the Rat party also a bad omen.

Possibly because it’s NOT random. But that likely escapes you also just as the (cough, cough) unintended consequences of legislation can be.

And, by the way, the apparent unintended consequences of legislation are frequently actually INTENDED consequences of the legislation by the bill writers. That also may escape you.

Re: "Seems to me the 100 Indians are likely better than what we'd get otherwise."

There is an insidious problem that is carefully concealed.

Once a H-1B uses up his six year visa, he must return home, or, his employer can sponsor him for a Green Card, in which case the H-1B can stay indefinitely, and he does not count against the H-1B (fake) quota.

Currently, only about 10,000 Asian-Indians get a skill related Green Card each year - which discourages many, many thousands of Indians from staying in the USA.

Under Mike Lee's legislation (which Trump has NEVER criticized or threatened to veto), up to 100,000 Asian-Indians can get Green Cards each year.

So, here's Mike Lee's plan...

Asian-Indians apply to USA universities and pay full price for 4 years. Then - they get a 3 year OPT student work visa. Then - they roll straight into a H-1B visa for 6 years. Then - 100,000 former H-1Bs roll straight into an employer sponsored Green Card scam.

Bottom Line...

95% of Asian-Indian software engineers are completely “average.”

They displace thousands of completely “average” home grown USA engineers because they work longer hours, get less pay, and are all chasing Green Cards.

By the way...

2012 - 80% of Asian-Indian citizens voted to reelect Obama.

2016 - 77% of Asian-Indian citizens voted for Hillary Clinton.

Thanks for the clear explanation of the Lee sellout. Immigration law has been about the careful concealment of insidious problems, by both Rats and the GOPe, since at least LBJ.

I work in IT as well and your statement is quite accurate. I do work remotely but co-workers in the corporate office have stated that it has turned into a “Little Mumbai”.

Also companies will create a job description that most US workers would not meet then use that as an excuse to hire an Indian.

The Indian will not be as competent as the US worker but will make those in HR “feel good” about themselves.
Having worked several years with “offshore” associates I have found the above to be true.
