The 2020 census is on track, government officials told reporters on Tuesday, and they sought to reassure the American public that any information collected in the population count will never be shared with local or federal law enforcement.

In a news conference in Philadelphia tied to Constitution Day – the Constitution mandates the count be done every 10 years -- Census Bureau officials also said workers have walked some 821,000 neighborhood blocks to ensure addresses in its system are correct.

The whole Census Citizenship question issue is resolved, and Trump won.

The real issue is Congressional apportionment. As it is now illegals have Congressional representation, there is a lawsuit looking to change that. Democrats didn't want the Citizenship question for 2 reasons, 1) as things are now they gain seats when more illegals answer the Census and 2) without the Question it would be hard to exclude illegals if the current lawsuit was successful. Trump made that concern moot when he issued an executive order mandating that all federal agencies provide the Census bureau all citizenship data. That means the Census bureau can exclude illegals even without the Citizenship question. To put the significance in perspective, California would likely lose FIVE seats in Congress, if illegals are not included in apportionment.

I was your man in the 2010 Census, and I'm your man in the 2020 Census.

I monitor the "data sharing" issue VERY closely. I was also a database manager and programmer/analyst in a previous life.

Suffice it to say that our data collection devices are buttoned up pretty well [enough to be a pain in the arse daily].

The "no sharing" line is true. If I see anybody doing it, they're getting prosecuted [it's a serious felony].

I brag that the IRS will share with law enforcement, but the Department of Commerce won't.
