Pope Francis' unexpected announcement this past Sunday that he would appoint 13 new cardinals to the College of Cardinals strengthens his grip on the Catholic Church and solidifies a liberal majority to select the next pope. ...

While three of the Cardinals designated will be honorary, 10 new ones will be created Oct. 5 at a consistory and will become active members of the College of Cardinals, increasing its number of electors to 128, exceeding the current limit of 120. ...

Since assuming the seat of St. Peter in 2013, Francis has been assiduously stacking the College of Cardinals with supporters, ones that will not only back his revisions to Church teachings, but choose his successor.

...

On matters of doctrine, the Pope has sought to move the faith to one that accepts alternative lifestyles, including gays and lesbians, and eases restrictions of Catholics who have been divorced.

Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. God’s word never changes. No one comes to the Father but through Christ.

"I'm not one for conspiracy theories BUT ..."

Is Pope Emeritus Benedict still alive? I thought he was so ill that he needed to step down. Maybe it's one of those slow and steady declines. Right?

Unbelievable. Yet Catholic churches still attract the adherents even if they don't buy this new theology. They are just as much at fault for not rising up in rebellion against this non-Christian apostasy.

When Jesus confronted sinners, He didn't say "No problemo!" Jesus confronted sinners and commanded them to "go and sin no more". He did not condone alternative morality, especially given that Jesus was fluent in the Torah—in fact his Dad wrote it.

It’s an old, sad story: Conservatives appoint people on the basis of their expertise, but leftists appoint people on the basis of politics. In the long run, leftists end up dominating position of power. I am convinced that is what happened to academia and the news media.

Nope. I’m going with what Khrushchev said. That they would “feed Socialism” to the West. So what have they been using to feed Socialism? After the fall of the USSR it was discovered the Soviets had 30,000 active Numbers Books in the USA. Those are who are feeding Socialism to the West. They are not plumbers and electricians. They are in positions of public influence.

It occurs to me that Francis’s whole purpose is to destroy the Catholic Church. The more liberal it gets, the more people leave it.

There will always be a faithful remnant. The biggest enemies of the Church have always been in the Church. As Christians, however, we know that in the end, our omniscient God wins. Pick sides now!

A lot of anti-Catholicism here. Interesting that some sects teach their children to hate the Catholic Church. Not a very Christian thing to do.

The pope is a dope, and that does not change the nature of the Catholic Church.
