Your calculator works right except that isn't the way Space Cadet Williamson proposes doling out the $500 billion:
The proposal calls for the creation of a “Reparations Commission” to allocate funds to infrastructure and education initiatives in black neighborhoods. According to Williamson’s campaign, the commission would be run by 50 descendants of slaves with a “scholarly, cultural, or political connection to the issue of reparations.”So she's not proposing to hand out $10 grand to every black person, but rather do it in the form of programs. How that's any different than what's already being now is beyond me. More so, though, the folks who are in favor of reparations for themselves expect to get a check, a very large one at that, not another program.
I'm not in favor of any of this, but we may as well address it properly. She's proposing another government program, but in true leftist fashion, hers is not going to fail where the others did because she's going to do it differently. Just like they say about the Soviet Union, Cuba, and Venezuela. In any event, even if perfectly implemented, it wouldn't matter because, again, people are expecting Ed McMahon, er, Wayne Brady to show up on their doorstep with a big fat reparations check.
I'd venture a guess that if this issue was "on the ballot" in 2020, a significant number of old school "blue collar" "blue dog" dems would vote for Trump just on this issue alone.
Perhaps in combination with the (D)'s wanting to give foreign nationals here illegally, taxpayer paid health care.
Her numbers are just for the bureaucracy to administer the ’help’. Could easily become $200 - 500 billion EVERY YEAR.

Also, will the African tribes who kidnapped their fellow African's and sold or bartered them to the slavers...will they be required to pay as well?
Will the Dutch, English, Spanish and Portuguese (among others) governments be required to chip in as well since they are the countries that brought the slaves here to begin with?

Better yet, lets take the money and return all descendants of slaves to their ancestral homelands.

Reparations will never happen. However, if some program were launched, we all know that it NEVER would be tied to peoples’ ACTUAL links to slavery. Rather, it would be all about giving money to anyone and everyone who in any tenuous way qualifies as “black”. We’d even see a decrease in the use of the word “African” because that theoretically could limit the payouts because there may be countries where the people are in some sense “black”, but that are not where some people would call in “Africa”.
Every aspect of a Reparations Program is insane...especially when you consider that the Great Society is one big Reparations Program.

Uh....no! If things start to to down this road perhaps we as people who pay taxes should just stop feeding the IRS beast. Believe or not most black people I know don’t want that handout.
