Of course, the real reason to oppose reparations is that all former slaves are...DEAD. But, I'll bite. Let's say there were a reparations plan. How in the name of God would the government determine WHO qualifies as the descendant of a slave? Barack Obama, for example, is NOT the descendant of anyone who was a slave in the USA. Would Obama himself — I'm not talking about his daughters - theoretically qualify for reparations?

Why can’t Marianne and her leftist followers pony up & redistribute ALL OF THEIR WEALTH?

The biggest purveyors of the “white guilt” lie are white lefties.

I figured $11,900/ each based upon 12% of 350 million people. So were somewhere in the ballpark.

I would go for it if they ended all of the war on poverty benefits at the same time.

Why?
I mean... WHY?

Because of some injustice done to their ancestors 200 years ago? Boo-frigging-hoo.

Permanently relocate all takers to Africa and I’m fine with this. It’s got to be a one-shot washing of hands, though, to be acceptable. No more racism card for those who decline to get paid to leave, either. It’s got to be buried for good, nevermore to be an issue of public policy. We get an Amendment that says so, and it’s a deal.

Boy that’s a good question.

Blacks that don’t get any easy money because they cannot prove this will be really angry.

They might even start killing each other on streets of Baltimore or Chicago.

Would be funny to watch black fighting against each other over this.

It is the most ABSURD proposal i’ve heard in a while.

If one group why not all groups?

Oh, she's not done. A half trillion is only a start:

It is obviously only one part of a multi-dimensional healing process...

The upshot of the entire Intersectional ideology is that no one really comes out on top but that it's very easy to designate someone who will come out on the bottom.

Is it really “debt” if in actuality it ($21 trillion) was pilfered from the hard working American tax payers by a bunch of evil, corrupt politicians? It should be obvious that we have been had for many decades.

Hey.

I think I am “of color”.

My skin or ancestry does not indicate this, but that just goes to show how disadvantaged I really am.

I am “of color” and my “white” indicators are colluding against me.

So that makes me at least Double Disadvantaged and worthy of reparations.

Follow all that? Pretty obvious, I think.

It would be interesting to see the reaction of black taxpayers who AREN’T the descendants of slaves having to fork over money to black non-taxpayers who ARE.

deduct any welfare payments received.

You always here that there are more white people on welfare than blacks, but there is 8 times as many white people in the country.

A correct comparison is percent. What percent of black people are on welfare? You NEVER hear that statistic.

My rough statistics math say it’s around 40% (or more).

Another percentage- although black people are only 12% of the population, they comprise 45% of the people on welfare, and almost 30% of the government work force.

So, half are on welfare, and the other half work for the government.

Here’s where it really gets crunchy:

The proposal calls for the creation of a “Reparations Commission” to allocate funds to infrastructure and education initiatives in black neighborhoods. According to Williamson’s campaign, the commission would be run by 50 descendants of slaves with a “scholarly, cultural, or political connection to the issue of reparations.”

Lol
