How long before the elderly and sick are pressured by “loving” family members (aka beneficiaries of the estate) to hurry up and do it? Calling grand pa and grand ma selfish for wanting to lay around and dry up the pie.

Guilt trip the elderly or sick. Coming soon to a neighborhood near you. Progressive compassion.

You already can have yourself killed through an Advance Health Care directive or Living Will. And under some circumstances, doctors can perform euthanasia under the rubric of palliative sedation. “Technically,” palliative sedation isn’t euthanasia because they’re administering pain meds with the intent of relieving suffering, not killing, it’s just that there was so much pain that the amount given also happened to be a lethal dose.

Whether or not suicide is legal becomes irrelevant once you succeed.

Not to your insurance company.

Even there, if life insurance excludes suicide, it won’t matter if killing yourself was legal. It’s all about the words of the contract.

If I illegally commit suicide, will I be arrested?

Ping me when New Jersey allows the terminally ill who choose to legally commit suicide to also legally posthumously vote their intent as of the date they choose to suicide.

but no, you just had to involve the public and its vast tax base so you can feel so superior and righteous.....

No, it's your own moral superiority and pseudo Christian hypocrisy that is denying terminally ill people from a pain free end of life.........

If my illness is terminal, if my pain is only controlled by high volumes of opioids, you have no right to deny me the means to end my life in the most pain free means available........

IT IS MY CHOICE, NOT YOURS!

“but we have to have another stinking law and another stinking “right” that we must abide by....”

Plus, it sounds like a slippery slope.

Here's the start of the slippery slope. So, terminally ill people can now use the state to commit suicide.

They don't want any involvement by the state, they just want to end their physical torment in peace......

It's the state that is standing in the way......

It’s not your right to impose your choice on the entire medical community. You can take your life if you wish but do it on your own initiative. You DO NOT have the right to make killers out of healers because at some point, as history always proves, the “choice” will become an “obligation”

It’s not your right to impose your choice on the entire medical community.

It is my right and choice to request the proper drugs to end my life of pain and misery.......

You DO NOT have the right to make killers out of healers

Your so called "healers" make that choice every day when they advise a family to remove life support.......Your "healers" did it to my brother back in October of 2001......

Your so called "healers" perform abortions every day, do they not?

Sorry sweetheart but you have no legitimate argument here.
