Democrats suffer anxiety attacks over Robert Mueller testimony, and blame him rather than themselves
Chicago Tribune ^ | 24 jusl 2019 | John Kass

There must have been a point in the Robert Mueller hearings when the big thinkers of CNN and MSNBC curled up on the floor in fetal positions and began breathing into brown paper bags, trying to remain calm.

Breathe. Collusion. Breathe. “Did not reach a determination as to whether the president committed a crime.” Breathe. Ted Lieu? Breathe.

Those paper bags popped in and out, out and in, when Democratic media wizard David Axelrod and Harvard Law’s Laurence Tribe pronounced the Mueller hearings an unmitigated disaster for their side. And Donald Trump puffed himself up to crow.

“The Democrats had nothing,” the president said after Mueller’s testimony. “And now they have less than nothing.”

He’s already elevated the hard left of the Democratic Party — the socialist “squad” or as I’d call them, The Gang of Four — as his true ideological opponents in 2020. And then Democrats said Mueller failed them.

“This is delicate to say, but Mueller, whom I deeply respect, has not publicly testified before Congress in at least six years,” Axelrod said on Twitter. “And he does not appear as sharp as he was then.”

We absolutely must see prosecutions over all of this. Failure to do so WILL lead to civil war.

Talk about damning with faint praise. You just watch, they will start saying that Mueller is in on it somehow. He’s a Republican after all.

This is the type of story for which I have been looking.

The Mueller report and testimony has made it more clear than ever that operatives within our government attempted to overthrow the result of the 2016 election. His inability to answer the “tell me about Fusion GPS” question sealed it: Mueller was simply a figurehead who was used by the Deep State to provide some legitimacy to their quest. That he claims “it was not a witch hunt” has no force, given his clear lack of familiarity with the process of the investigation.

Meanwhile the morning CBS, ABC, NBC shows had Mueller as #3 story and went to the talking points - Russians attacked our election, cannot exonerate the President w/ minimal sound bites which made the appearance that his testimony was the same old report. No one mentions that our legal system is innocent till proven guilty.

I watched this w/ the wife and she did not what the actual testimony yesterday like I did and it was such an obvious edit hack job well beyond a bias, pure dishonest misrepresentation

I do not understand how our system of government is supposed to work anymore.

1. We put a guy (Mueller) in charge of a $35 million probe.
2. He comes before congress to address and presumably defend his “conclusions”.
3. Yet, for every question he ducks, weaves and evades any direct answers.
4. To Jim Jordan’s point about why didn’t he investigate those who got the whole thing started,, he deferred.

I am an engineer and I have written engineering reports, and if I was called to defend my report, you better believe I presented all the data and answered every question as much as possible.

I do not understand how someone who is in charge of a 2 year $35 million enquiry can just blow everyone off and not answer legitimate questions.

The main reason is that Mueller is not required to defend the report. The report must be taken at face value.

The congressional hearings were called with unjustified expectations that Mueller would say any thing besides citing page numbers, chapter and verse.

The congress could not and did not compel the man to do or say anthing

The congress was pretending to be relevant when it was not

The end result was nothing happened

We know now that Mueller was nothing but a figure head , a man who stayed out of touch and locked away in his own office, who administratively simply said yes or no to investigations and prosecutions. He was the last to know about anything.

Mueller is a confused old man whose days are over, used and abused, by a democrat machine dedicated to usurping a duly elected president of the United States.

In short: A WITCH HUNT.

Thank G_d it failed.

"I do not understand how someone who is in charge of a 2 year $35 million enquiry can just blow everyone off and not answer legitimate questions."

LOL. You answered your own question - you're an engineer.

Competent engineers are very responsible, honest people. They deal in reality.

Denizens of DC, not so much.

.

Republican Arizona Rep. Debbie Lesko accused former special counsel Robert Mueller of using little more than “regurgitated press stories” to compile an obstruction of justice case against President Donald Trump.

“Mr. Mueller, rather than purely relying on the evidence provided by witnesses and documents, I think you relied a lot on media. I’d like to know how many times you cited The Washington Post in your report,” Lesko began.

Mueller was unsure how many times, and Lesko noted that she had counted 60 times that the Washington Post was cited in the report. Lesko also counted 75 times that Mueller’s report cited the New York Times and 25 times that the report cited Fox News.

“I’ve got to say, it looks like Volume II is mostly regurgitated press stories,” Lesko concluded. “Honestly, there’s almost nothing in Volume II that I couldn’t already hear or know simply by having a $50 cable news subscription. However, your investigation cost the American taxpayers $25 million.”

“We absolutely must see prosecutions over all of this. Failure to do so WILL lead to civil war.”

I wholeheartedly agree.

What good is the law if it applies to only one definable group of people, and not to another definable group?

May as well jettison ALL law at that point.
