We can argue about the wall all we want, whether it is just a tiny bit of replacement wall or new wall (many of us have been discussing this over the past few days), but deporting people already here does not need new legislation, new funding, or standing by for the courts. These are people already in the US, many with deportation orders. Yet, ICE is doing their work at a snail’s pace, a trickle of people arrested and presumed deported. I say presumed because they report arrested and do not state if they were actually deported. ICE needs to get to work!!!

In addition to deportation we need to start imposing serious fines on those who hire or rent to illegal aliens, to be followed by criminal prosecution for repeat offenders. Remove the incentives for illegal aliens to come here.

I think ICE has a good portion of it upper levels infiltrated with Obama holdovers. Many of the MAGA tenets didn’t have snowball’s chance in hell without draining the swamp COMPLETELY.

Deporting people is a futile effort without a secure border to keep them out. Any that want to simply come back.

Before these large groups started coming a Border Patrol Agent told me 1/3 of illegals they were arresting had been previously deported from the US. Even within the large groups from this year it was found many had been here previously and deported.

If you read news articles about illegals who have committed crimes, many have been previously deported and some more than once.

No one thing will solve all the issues, it has to be a layered effect. Securing the border has to be part of that for anything else to be effective.

We must change our asylum laws, people claiming asylum must be currently allowed in at least to be processed so a secure border will not really help with the large groups of so called “asylum” seekers.

We do need to deport large numbers of people, whatever it takes to do that. With the current immigration crisis in my opinion there is just not available manpower though if this crisis can be brought under some control there would be more manpower available for deportations.

I don’t know what is going on with ICE arrests right now, I have read articles that sound like more have been arrested than this article says. But certainly no impressive numbers. Supposedly there are no ICE raids going on in my state and yet people who live in Santa Fe say they are seeing ICE gathering people up. It is hard to really know because ICE is always gathering people up, the only new thing about the current so called raids is now they are including those that have deportation orders when up to recently they have been concentrating on criminal illegal aliens, gang members. Mexicans or Canadians arrested in the border area are fairly easy to deport but those that come from any other country require out processing. Even if there are deportation orders, once they are arrested before they can be put on a plane back to their country there is a paperwork process with their country to process them back in. That takes time and agents to do.

As to deporting people being trouble free that is not the case either. Simply gathering up illegals and deporting them cannot legally be done any more without their consent. If ICE gathers up a random illegal all they have to do is ask for an immigration hearing and they cannot be deported until all hearings are done and appeals exhausted. Those that have already had their day in court and have deportations orders issued on them can be deported. Lawsuits have already been filed to say even those with deportation orders should get another hearing if they didn’t actually go to their hearing. The claims are that they weren’t notified of hearing is why they weren’t there.

Anything to do with securing the border or deporting illegals has become a long legal process because those that support open borders and illegal immigration have had decades to put up roadblocks. Border security and illegal immigration are out of control and it is a real mess. To solve it now it will take attacks from different angles. There are no simple solutions.
