Devin Nunes troubled by Mifsud mystery: 'None of this makes any sense' (Mueller)
Washington Examiner ^ | 7/03/19 | Daniel Chaitin

Rep. Devin Nunes said there is something "weird" going on with the media's coverage of the Russia investigation, even after special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation came to a close.

In an interview with Fox News, the California congressman was asked to react to a Washington Post report this week focusing on Maltese academic Joseph Mifsud, the man who told former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos the Russians had damaging information about Hillary Clinton and effectively set in motion what would become the Russia investigation. The report critically assesses what Trump allies such as Nunes have claimed about Mifsud, including that he might be a Western intelligence plant.

Claiming the Post is "jumping back into the Russia hoax water," Nunes questioned why such a report would come out when only one person has described Mifsud as an asset of Russia, and it was not even Mueller.

"Because look, the only guy that we know that has said for sure that Mifsud is a Russian asset is guess who? James Comey. Just about a month ago in the pages of the Washington Post," he added, referring to an opinion column that was written in May by the former FBI director and vocal critic of the president.

Strange stuff out there...

It’s really not strange. Mifsud was not a “Russian agent” as Comey is a liar. He was an FBI possibly CIA asset and although not proven definitively YET, it will be.

_____________

They wanted redactions because it is likely all their assets are going to have their covers blown. Likely there is a double cover, with one file naming all of them as Russian assets, while deeper, more classified files show them all as intelligence assets.

They will play this like Palme and accuse Trump of endangering national security by disclosing agents.

I give the Post far more evil motives than Nunes does. The Post is certainly aware that the entire Russian Hoax is that - a hoax. But they are also aware that the entire upper level of the Obama administration faces criminal charges if the full extent of the hoax is exposed. The Post, along with the rest of the liberal media are attempting to sustain the Russia-Russia-Russia myth until the 2020 election is over, so that enough liberal idiots turn out to throw Trump out of office. It's the only way to keep Obama and his cronies out of jail.

Mifsud has denied that he told Papadopoulos the Russians had Clinton's emails, and a Swiss man claiming to be his attorney, Stephan Roh, told the Post that his client is a “Western intelligence element to be protected" and claims that Mifsud has ties to Russian intelligence are “defamatory accusations.”

.....

Guest host Dan Bongino asked Nunes why, if there is legitimate belief that Mifsud was a Russian agent, there has not been a damage assessment.

"If Mifsud was a Russian asset — my God. You’ve got the FBI, the State Department, the U.S. Congress. All of our allies, NATO, Boris Johnson. I mean, they’ve all been compromised by this Russian asset, famous Russian asset, Joseph Mifsud. So look, The fact that they’re not doing a damage assessment, Dan, I think tells you in the American people all you need to know. Highly unlikely that Mifsud is a Russian asset," Nunes said.

***************

Hmmmm. The plot thickens. It would appear that the Post is, once again, planting stories in a timely manner to protect their Deep State allies.

"Where’s Brennan been lately?"

He's been with his co-conspirators Comey and Clapper, hiding. I'm quite sure their lawyers have told them to keep a low profile until the Durham indictments are issued.

Absolutely right. The Post is clearly running cover for the Dems and they are very worried about the potential exposure and damage that could result from Mueller’s upcoming testimony.

Trump endanger national security by exposing agents?

If we don’t name them, how are we going to know who to hang?

Indirectly, perhaps. The simpler explanation seems to be that there was foreign interference in the election and that it came from Britain, Australia and possibly Italy — our erstwhile “allies”.

Because the Washington Post is an asset of the CIA. Everyone knows this.
