I know it is depressing but it wasnt too different during the Revolution (British loyalists) and Civil War (Confederates) and even Great Depression...(when people were rightfully down and out, and in their isolationist, considering of socialism phase)
I am the unbearably cheery “Gospel solves everything” guy here....
But I did say gospel. Not “religion” per se. “Religion” can easily be about idols.
American greatness arose in tandem with its founding era Christian ideas.
But God has no grandchildren; even great early Christian movements (like the noble minded Pilgrims, noted for friendly relationships with American Indians) sometimes came to a quick end with a next generation that just wasn’t interested in that Jesus Christ thing.
If you want that kind of a blessing back, skip the artifacts — accept the invitation of the Blesser with your heart.
