“That being said, this is the wrong solution to the crisis.”

Since Republicans failed to deal with the problem while you had the majority in both Houses of Congress, and a Republican in the White House, it's obvious you didn't care to come up with a solution, so shut up, and support the President who seems to be the only one who is willing to put a solution in place.

“It’s a conflict over policy.”

That’s true of everything that Congress debates. It doesn’t excuse Cruz siding with Mexico against Trump and average Americans

Dear Ted, since the congress won’t do their job, you object to tarrifs, so the only thing that is left is to declare war on Mexico. Start bombing

Cruz is conflicted by the Cabal Agenda, and is working
hand in hand with the Corrupt Coup Enemedia, against us.

““I understand that the president is frustrated with congressional democrats refusing to do their job,” Cruz said.”

The jackass. The GOP had the house and senate for 2 years. We shouldn’t even be here today. The dems had zero way to stop them.

The GOP whore party is more loyal to free trade agreements than to America as a nation. They are happy to see open borders.

I used to like Cruz a lot. 2014, 2015, I thought he might be the future.

But during the 2016 campaign season, I began to notice he just might have a screw loose.

He’s screwy.

But at least he blocked Beto O’Dork in 2018.

If anyone could ever be described as being “off” it would be Beck. There is something about him that I just can’t place my finger on, but I bet one too many bad days in a row and that guy would go postal on air.

First thought should be:

Mexico can eliminate this tariff anytime they wish. It's in their hands.

Ted should know better. Our country is being swamped with illegals that are not vetted one iota, and many of them are rapping and molesting and stealing and whatnot.

If he keeps this up we might have to call him Treasonous Ted.

This tariff might help.

Otherwise it’s going to take placing the entire Marine Corp on the border and closing it down tight.

I’d go with the Marines if it was me...but I’m a hardass...

It’s also about power. Cruz and the rest of Congress are fine with business as usual, dealing with the immigration crisis their lack of action has created falls on the Executive branch, not them. They had a majority in the House and Senate and a Republican President and they DIDN’T DO SQUAT.

So it’s no longer some academic debat over policy, it’s about dealing with a crisis that is at least as much Cruz’s responsibility as any other member of Congress.

The President has a limited arsenal of weapons he can bring to bear and someone who has deep expertise in trade has confirmed that this is the first time in history that a tariff has been used as a means of effecting change by a foreign power, not for trade balancing. Based on the response from Mexico, it appears to have gotten their attention at least, which is more than can be said for anything the Do-Notings in either R or D branch of the Uniparty have accomplished.

I agree that results are what should matter. Perhaps someone could remind those we send to Congress to represent our interests of that fact. Because results are something they are not familiar with.

Big business does not want e-verify, won’t go along with it without being drug kicking and screaming, and they don’t want the border wall either.

“Come on Ted! Cornyn I can understand. But you?!”

It’s simple really, Cruz has many voters who might be offended by a positive stance on tariffs. Catering to those voters will help ensure Victory next election cycle.

...and given Senator Cruz’ background maybe all the more reason he should be selected for SCOTUS.

please tell me Ted, what is the solution, because as I recall rinos had control of the congress and WH and you did nothing. I assume another strongly worded letter is it? Oh my I might have to pay more for cartel funding avocados, corona beer, or chipotle, well full disclosure I don’t eat avocados, drink corona, or eat at chipotle. So go for it President Trump!!!!!

Yes, tariffs are a tax.

But this is pretty much all that is left to stop this country form turning into a bigger hell hole than it is, as we have hundreds of thousands of illegals pouring in, they have not been vetted, and many of them are rapists, murderers, and so on.

Yes, libs will say that somehow they rape and murder at a lower rate but this is a non sequitur:

If x percentage of Americans rape and murder at a y amount and you add in illegals even doing this at half the rate you still have an increase in y amount that we would not have if they were not here!!!
