President Donald Trump is scoffing at Democrats attempts to pry loose his tax returns, saying his refusal to release the records as a candidate didnt hurt him in 2016 and voters didnt care about the issue.
A leading House Democrat has issued subpoenas for six years of Trumps tax documents and given Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig a deadline of this coming Friday to deliver them. [ ]
The subpoenas came from Rep. Richard Neal, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, on Friday, days after Mnuchin refused to comply with demands to turn over Trumps returns. Mnuchin said the committees request lacks a legitimate legislative purpose, as Supreme Court precedent requires. [ ]
Trump tweeted on Saturday that he won in 2016 partially based on no Tax Returns while I am under audit (which I still am), and the voters didnt care. Now the Radical Left Democrats want to again relitigate this matter. Make it a part of the 2020 Election!

Absolutely right.
Unless they’re hostile dems.
PDJT is absolutely correct.
Nobody gives a damn about his old tax returns.
If he wanted to release them, he could have.
He chose his privacy, which is 1000 percent his right as an American.
End of file.
It is disgusting to see the Dimocraps even mentioning the topic, more or less making fools of themselves “demanding” someone else’s tax returns. (Which they could never understand anyways, ha!)
USA should return to having no federal income tax!
I couldnt care less about President Trumps tax returns. I would like to know about Obamas sealed records on pretty much everything.
All he has to say is “If they are allowed to dig into MY personal finances, what’s to stop them from diggin into YOURS?”
Agreed. There was a reason why there was no such thing in the original Constitution. And it still remains a point of contention as to whether the Sixteenth Amendment was properly passed.
Trump’s right.
I couldn’t imagine how to give less of a ####.
It would actually be difficult to think of something I DID care less about.
they dont
If there was a problem with DJT’s taxes it would have come out in 2016. DemRATs know that, but they’ve proved to be as tenacious as any of the most treacherous adversaries this country has ever known.
If anything, I’m focused, like a laser, on my future tax returns.
I certainly don’t care.
I can’t imagine anyone with an iota of sense thinks that his tax returns are going to contain any sort of “Gotcha!” He has people, probably a number of them, whose jobs are to be sure that all the “t’s” are crossed and all the “i’s” dotted.
I don’t think he’s witholding them because he’s afraid of what will be seen. I think he’s witholding them because they are nobody else’s business. And because he can. And because it causes his opposition to become unglued.
I agree with a meme I saw today. I’m not interested in the tax returns of a rich man who became a politician. I’m a lot more interested in the returns of politicians who became rich men and women.
Sonce all the dems want them for is to make political points with them, I don’t care.
They have no right to anyones tax returns.
I like the idea of all sitting members of Senate and Congress provide their tax returns from past 10 years first.
I would also like an accounting of the tax money that was spent covering up sexual harassment by senators, reps, and their staff.
California is in the process of forcing him to show his returns to be on the ballot. I say fine, make anyone who runs for any elective office show their returns. I think the board of supervisors or city council would be a lot more enlightening.
The Constitution does not require anyone to release their tax returns in order to be President. It does, however, require a warrant issued by a court based on probable cause that there’s a crime in order for someone’s private records to be released without their consent. Congress is not a court and is not authorized to issue such a warrant.
It’s called the Fourth Amendment.
He’s right, they don’t...
Do the Democrats really want to open that can of worms?
