I attended one of the Claremont undergraduate colleges. Pitzer has long been known as a nest of far leftwing goofballery. They were especially keen on the Sandinistas, offering to house them in their dorms. (What runaway Sandinistas would be doing in Claremont was never explained.) There was also a petition to make suicide pills available to the student body for use in case of nuclean holocaust.

Pitzies to bed Scrippsies to wed. Ah the days of good old CMC. The first Earth Days at Pitzer were a blast. Coeds so stoned it was a guaranteed lay.

If you are a Mudder, it was I and Charlie Speelbutt that stole the No Tell Motel sign from your dorm roof, not once, but twice. If you were from Pomona, well I am just sorry for you.

My years at Claremont made Animal House seem like a convent. Have no idea how I made it through. Only took seven years and Dean Heslop finally had to suggest, strongly, that I finish my studies “off campus”. I think he is in Hotel Fed now, no chit.

A lifetime ago I was accepted at Claremont Men’s College, was on alternate scholarship list, but did not get it. The group of colleges are beautiful but they have all gone insane since my youth. Got a scholarship to UC Santa Barbara and went there instead.
