Legal eagles can advise us better, but it seems to me that whatever truth Cohen might leak out among his many many LIES today will be a breach of attorney-client privilege.

Trump could hit him with a civil lawsuit that could make history.

This is what makes the whole spectacle so bizarre.

From what I've seen, Trump hasn't even made any public statement objecting to Cohen's testimony before Congress at all.

I wouldn’t think it would be admissible in any court.

The boy is lying like a little b*tch in hopes of staying out of jail. He’s too sick to go to jail but he’s fine to testify before the buffoons on Capitol Hill. Weird.

If what Cohen had contained any legal merit, Mueller would have had him in front of a Grand Jury, not Democrat/Deep State hacks in Congress. Political theater.

So, does Trump go after Cohen and give this stunt more credibility, or just ignore it/troll it? Does Cohen have any real assets to go after?

Thirty years in the NYC construction business and Trump learned nothing from the Sicilians.

One thing that’s obvious to me is that Cohen must not have given Mueller anything worthwhile that Trump could be prosecuted for. If he had, it is highly likely the DOJ and Mueller would have gagged Cohen until those crimes could be prosecuted so as not to screw up their case. It’s standard procedure.

While what you say is probably true, What was not released is likely more important to Trump than what was. If there is litigation, it can all come out

I don’t know about lawsuits but I assume that breaking attorney-client privilege was the reason why Cohen was disbarred yesterday the moment he opened his mouth before the Senate panel.

Cohen must be broke. That’s why he did some of the shady stuff he was convicted of—lying on bank applications about the value of the leveraged taxi medallions he was using for collateral.

So, suing a disbarred lawyer who is broke and going to jail is pointless. He will never work as an attorney again. No one would ever hire him, knowing that he is probably recording them “just in case.”

Once upon a time the quintessence of evil was “a Philadelphia lawyer.” That has not been applicable for decades. Instead, the real bottom-crawler is the New York City lawyer.

Seems like attorney/client privilege would be a factor, at least in some instances with Cohen’s testimony.

Problem is, when it comes to dealing with anything involving President Trump, the law doesn’t seem to matter in the minds of judges and politicians. Nor does the Constitution seem to be of concern.

All that matters is that they somehow ‘get Trump’.

I can tell you, if I do qualify as a legal eagle, it astounds me he is being allowed to give this testimony. While it’s possible a court could make some exceptions,I think a court would order him to stop. The idea that I could be representing a client and then testify about his instructions to me and his various comments is just wildly inappropriate. The client owns that privilege and it survives even the client’s death.

Well, the guy is already burnt toast so, dont know what ansuit would accomplish...

Seems to me there ought to be a way to Mueller for compelling this 1bit error in a 64bit world...

Michael Cohen is single-handedly destroying the high regard most Americans have for the legal profession.

/s

I wonder what the coverage will be on the network news tonight. Ten minutes on the Michael Cohen dog-and-pony show and 30 seconds on the meeting in Hanoi between President Trump and Kim?

You can bet Trump is waiting for Cohen to write a book and make some money from it.

Normally a lawyer would get hosed for doing this, but in the case of Trump suing, the judge would toss the suit as frivolous, just because it would be Trump.
