Following the invocation this morning, Senator Grassley said into the microphone: "Let's all pray that the president will have wisdom to sign the bill so government doesn't shut down."

Let me improve my post. Offering 3.5 billion for refugees is a slap in the face to Trump and to all Americans who need a wall to help keep them safe. That 3.5 billion will probably end up helping refugees enter our country through the back door when what we want is for them to enter through the front door.
No, I am saying that this bill, which Trump tragically signed, is so bad that even an open-ended CR would have been better. BTW, I am not opposed to shuttering the government for 2 years, but this would have been a political disaster.
Illegals are clearly a national emergency, especially Mexican and Hispanic. Where do you think our young adults go to buy the heroin they are addicted to? I can tell you in Nashville they go to one of three Mexican controlled areas. One is the Nolensville RD area just east of 100 Oaks, the other is Madison, and; also Antioch.
So based on your message to me, do you agree with Trump to go it alone with this National Emergency and other funding? That’s where I am with all this now. Of course the wall is only part of the story. A lot of other items are necessary for immigration reform.
Every time you wonder if maybe Sen. Grassley has finally coughed the last of the Swamp from his lungs (gills?), he pulls a stunt like this.
Hopefully this is his last term and he’ll decide to ride off into the sunset (making way for Pat Grassley, his up-and-coming state legislator grandson, to take over the family business in DC).
true.
