Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s first speech from the House floor has set a minor record with C-SPAN.
Ocasio-Cortez slammed the Trump Administration over the partial government shutdown in her remarks. A C-SPAN tweet of her nearly four-minute speech garnered 1.16 million views in a little more than 12 hours, setting a record for the most-watched Twitter video from the outlet of any remarks by a House member, according to a tweet from Howard Mortman, C-SPAN’s communications director.
By Friday morning, it had surpassed 2.3 million views, with more than 13,000 retweets and over 46,000 likes.

It's like what happened in this relatively small State Rep district. She'd have my vote if the alternative is someone of the Romney/Jeb/PaulRyan/Kasick ilk.
Number of people watching breaking a record is not necessarily a positive. I would bet that a large number watched for comic relief and to see how many time she said stupid things or how many times her facts just were’nt supportable. She has a history of both.

To her credit (very hard for me to say), she actually had a good delivery. There were no Obamao “ums,” “ers,” “uuuhhhhs,” “all wee-wee’d up,” or “speaking Austrian.” No “like he went” or “you guys” or “Trump is a mutha-f....” Just a well delivered speech.
Somebody has been coaching her well on public speaking. I know I would be scared sh!tless speaking on the floor of the house for the first time.
The fact that she can deliver a decent, short, somewhat tempered speech on the floor of the house is (I think) bad news. She is going to pick up new adherents.
Nobody gets where she is at by accident. I would like to know who is propping this twit up.
No telling how many on our side watched just to stay totally informed - and maybe come up with some funny videos to post - mocking her...
