Two would-be robbers who were fatally shot at a liquor store in the Gresham neighborhood Saturday night have been identified as a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy, authorities said.
Keshawn Marzette, 15, of the 8300 block of South Throop Street, and William Larson, 17, of the same address, were pronounced dead on the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Autopsies Sunday determined both died of multiple gunshot wounds and their deaths were classified as homicides, the office said.
The two were shot to death by a store employee about 8:30 p.m. when they tried to rob Z&S Food & Liquor, 1351 W. 87th St., sources said.
Citing preliminary information, authorities said two people walked into the store, and one of them hopped over the counter.
That person hit the clerk standing behind the counter, while the other remained in front of the counter, authorities said.
Meanwhile, a relative of the store owner heard a commotion upstairs and saw the robbery suspects from a stairwell, authorities said.
He pulled out a gun and opened fire on the two, killing them, authorities said. At least one of them was armed with a gun.
Family members at the scene identified one of the suspects as Larson, 17.
Investigators were trying to determine if the teens had robbed at least two other stores in the area not long before trying to rob the liquor store.
Bruce Jones said he was sitting in a van across the street while his nephews bought drinks inside the store. He said he heard shots and ran into the store, where he saw both robbers lying on the floor "bleeding out."
"Greed and being thirsty, that's what gets you killed," Jones said. "You just can't go taking people's stuff."

More Youth-related gun violence.
Of course it is a homocide. Sounds like justifiable homocide. (Most people dont know what the word homocide really means. Most people doesnt include most Freepers - you all get it Im sure. Just though Id note for any uniformed lurkers.)
Probably siblings And with the name Keshawn I don't have to look. BUT ... I'm sure they loved their momma and were turning their lives around and were aspiring rappers and didn't deserve to die for something as minor as armed robbery
Jeez, cops don't even do that...
Well.....bye.
The perps might still be alive if Chicago and Cook County still threw the book at perps for this kind of crime. In the jug, but still alive. Let’s hear it for decriminalization.
Cleaning the gene pool. Let’s hope they didn’t leave any progeny behind and the store clerks are not charged.
They’ll never grow up to vote democrat.
Cleaning up the city..!
Good shooting, good man!
“Greed and being thirsty, that’s what gets you killed,” Jones said. “You just can’t go taking people’s stuff.”
Sometimes lifes’ lessons are not these subtle, nuanced, ephemeral ideas about “privilege”. I suppose this was a mega aggression.
GOOD!.......the young criminal mind understands some basic things: like the words Ill kick your ass if you do that and DEAD
Right. Justifiable homicide. Robbers were armed or at least one of them was.
They were just turning their lives around too.
They got what was coming to them.
The reporter was wise enough not to put the name of the store employee who did the shooting.
Referring to the last comment from a bystander;
I have to get used to this new use of the word ‘thirsty’.
The store employee saved the taxpayers a lot of money paying for these feral (now dead) losers.
Two more expiring rappers. I can not help but think of Charles Tanz’s immortal poem, He’ll Never Row His Boat To Shore:
Hell Never Row His Boat To Shore!
The Saga of Michael Brown
There was a store in Ferguson town
With grocery goods and meats.
And in one day strolled Michael Brown,
Who stole some Swisher Sweets.
To mix tobacco with some pot
Is what he meant to do.
Though smoking certainly is not
A healthy thing to do.
Abetted in this robbery
By his friend D. Johnson,
Who then would tell a great big lie
As soon as it was done.
And thus began the fatal chain
All across the nation.
Just like those things that happen in
Final Destination.
The post-death autopsy, it found
Michael weighed three hundred,.
And he would throw his weight around.
Getting what he wanted.
Meanwhile an innocent white cop
Was out there on patrol,
When he made a 10-20 stop,
On Michael on a stroll.
Officer Wilson was his name
Just 26 years old.
A man with no real claim to fame,
Who did what he was told.
He requested that Michael halt,
And step out of the road.
What happened next was Michels fault
As to the car he strode!
Reaching through the window with
His gentle giant paw.
Brown punched Wilson in the head
Before he even saw!
Then Brown then tried to steal his gun
To shoot Poor Wilson dead.
But even though Wilson was stunned,
This brave man kept his head!
Michael Brown was so much bigger
Still Wilson kept his gun,
And though dazed, he pulled the trigger.
This was shot number one.
Brown then backed away and ran,
But then turned back around,
Then madly charged the policeman
So Wilson shot him down.
Wilson plugged him six more times!
And only then Brown stopped.
Was he high, or was it his crimes?
Or Suicide by Cop?
Brown lay there in the blood and gore,
As people gathered round.
Hell never row his boat to shore.
He will not make a sound.
Meanwhile Johnson lied that Wilson
Shot Brown down like a brute,
While Brown kneeled, his hands to the sun
And begging, Please dont shoot!
Johnsons lies got spread all around
And caused an angry mob.
Poor Wilson got run out of town,
Just for doing his job.
Then, a grand jury heard the case,
With all the evidence.
Finding Johnson was way off base
And Wilsons innocence.
But still the lie was spread around
There wasnt justice yet.
Criminal blacks burned down the town,
Lest we forget! Lest we forget!
Waiting outside for their share of the "take" from the underage robbers, maybe?
LOL...Jones was the wheelman in the getaway car. What a joke, they want us to believe, "Johnny and Billy were just buying Slurpees with that bad store owner shot them dead".
Charge this AH with their deaths.
