Like legislating from the bench, this is now legislating from the prosecutor.

“Breaking and entering will not be prosecuted, as long as the perpetrator makes sure the property is vacant. Alternatively, those who commit break-ins of occupied homes because they are cold or tired, but don’t damage anything, will also be in the clear.”

Holy carp.

Seems like most of these new "non crimes" are crimes against others, not administrative crimes that the government uses to control & generate revenue.

Would I be arrested for failure to pay tickets ? Moving violations & parking? Failure to pay a fine for code violations ?

Fast enough to make your head spin, I’d bet.

These mental illnesses are really affecting a lot of people. I guess it should be labeled and identified so idiots like this DA can be fired for having it. At the very least; removed and put into a treatment plan.

"With rare exception, offenses of shoplifting, trespass, threats, and larceny under $250 will no longer be prosecuted, as well as disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, and “minor driving offenses,” according to the list."

Anyone with two brain cells to rub together will flee now. Of course selling your house may be "problematic".

By the way, since when was it within the purview of a DA to pick and choose which laws they would enforce. Wouldn't the city, county and state legislatures not to mention mayor and governor have something to say about this? Just askin.

> Wow. So I guess if I’m tired, and not close to home, I can just break into someone’s house and sleep? <

Just don’t think of it as breaking in. Think of it as undocumented entering.

So this is yet another leftist throwing law abiding taxpayers to the wolves to grow their plantation.

Since it's ok to break into someone's property for shelter, the good prosecutor won't mind a little B & E from me when I crash in her office on a cold night?

Yep! ...Plus, they will be able to lay off half of the police and detectives in Boston, saving taxpayers all of those salaries and pensions.
