In the Illinois Capitol rotunda this month, several traditions are being celebrated. There's a Nativity scene for Christmas, a menorah for Hanukkah, and then something a little different: an arm holding an apple, with a snake coiled around it.

It's a gift from the Chicago branch of The Satanic Temple. Called "Snaketivity," the work also has a sign that reads "Knowledge Is The Greatest Gift."

Nearby stands a sign in which the state offers a civics lesson — and explains it didn't have much of a choice...

I think we already noticed that in 2008. Besides, Illinois wanted to put up a statue to the real father of their favorite imported son. Whether one believes he was imported from Hawaii or elsewhere is another thing.

This is the state that stopped paying any lottery win over $600 for awhile. That was rather interesting, showing how close to the edge they are.

Normally I’d object to Satan being honored but in the case of the Democrat-controlled Illinois capitol it’s simply truth in advertising.

As an American military veteran, I fought to defend EVERY American CITIZEN’S rights under the 1st Amendment, even those I might find strange, weird, or crazy.
Now, in this supposed land of individual freedom, where supposedly, a man’s personal beliefs are between him and his god, not your’s or mine, there seems to be a bunch of folkss acting just like johmny jjihads, in that other folks are not thinking right, if they dont all agree on the same god.
I did not fight a holy war, nor was i a templar, but i fought for freedom’s sake, in the face of communism.
Any imposition of anybody’s religion over another American is an encroachment on the freedom of all Americans.
