In one of his first acts in office, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has signed an agreement with his counterparts from three Central American countries to establish a development plan to stem the flow of migrants seeking asylum in the U.S.

The Foreign Ministry said Saturday that the plan includes a fund to generate jobs in the region and aims to attack the structural causes of migration from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.

I’ll be(t) this is Art of Deal stuff. Pompeo spent some time ironing things out in Mexico.

Threatening to close the border - which would strangle Mexico's economy within days - probably helped a little too ...

Never forget the "Art of the Threat"

I thought when Obrador/Labrador got elected, he was xonsidered worse than the guy he beat, as in he was anti Trump and pro-illegal immigration? It was said he was WAY more of a leftist than outgoing Nieto. What happened??

I don’t think it’s possible to be worse than what they had before.

Especially crooks like Vincente Fox.

I thought this new guy Obrador/Labrador was saying FU to Trump the same way Vicente Fox was saying to Trump during the 2016 campaign... What happened? Also wasn’t Obrador/Labrador a huge supporter of the drug cartel there or involved in it somehow?

“Easy enough to sign a “deal.””

Exactamundo. Show me the money, or in this case, the action.

I wonder if the “caravan” organizers got wind of this decision by this new Mexican leader and decided to invade the USA in one last group push. Those organizers are likely many starting with dem operatives within the Soros funded groups down to the boots on the ground in both Central American countries.

I don’t remember hearing if Mexicans from the South joined these invaders or if they are strictly from Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala.

The Foreign Ministry said Saturday that the plan includes a fund to generate jobs in the region and aims to attack the structural causes of migration from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.

What is needed is for these countries, mexico included, to stop being kleptocracies. That is extremely unlikely to happen.

U.S. taxpayers to fund this plan? Oh, just ‘charge it’ to
our great grand children.

Another one who likes to piss in the Cheerios, I see.

At some stage the US will have a conference with all these nations to deal with this issue.

You’re absolutely right, canuck.

In fact, Trump is probably loving the fact that with Trade, he’s in the driver’s seat because everybody wants access to the US economy, so he’s got a hammer.

Remember, when he builds a skycraper, the politicians and bankers have most of the leverage.

He’s a super socialist - if he dosn’t cooperate, Mexico’s economy will tank so fast he won’t have capital to institute any programs....
