Heat waves that make Chicago feel like Las Vegas. Warming ocean temperatures that displace Maine's lobsters. A year-round spike in disease-carrying mosquitoes in Florida.
These are just some of the ways climate change could play out across the country over the coming decades, according to the federal government's National Climate Assessment, released over Thanksgiving weekend.
Assembled by scientists and administrators from 13 federal agencies, here are six of the most dramatic findings from the fourth National Climate Assessment:
MIDWEST HEAT WAVES
If the world continues pumping out Earth-warming greenhouse gases at current levels, Chicago could see almost as many 100-degree days by the year 2100 as Las Vegas experienced, on average, from 1981 to 2010.
UNPREDICTABLE RAINFALL
Outsized rain downpours have destabilized coastal bluffs, triggering landslides and regularly shutting down parts of Amtraks busy Portland-to-Seattle train service.
DEVASTATING WILDFIRES
The tripling of burned acreage is a worst-case scenario.
LOBSTER ON THE MOVE
The home grounds of lobster have shifted north and become more unpredictable, challenging fishermen to deliver one of New Englands most prized exports.
MORE MOSQUITOES
The prevalence of disease-carrying mosquitoes is expected to increase across Florida and much of the Southeast as temperatures warm.
ARCTIC EROSION
Higher temperatures, longer periods of retreating sea ice and sea level rise have combined to create massive erosion along Alaskas coastlines.

I blame “climate change” for the existence of the lunatic LIBs. If we blow-up the sun, that should be the end of them!
“The Left” has obviously decided they can’t get rid of Trump and “Collusion” is off the table so “let’s dredge up Climate Change” and beat on it for a while.
It’s, “Vote for us and good weather is around the corner.”
NBC, MSN BS, ABC, SEE BS, and CNN are all totally worthless. They are nothing but propaganda tools and mouthpieces for the DEMON RAT party, and the communist, globalist left.
When the Solar Minimum-induced mini ice age happens (again) over the next five or so decades, I suspect mosquitoes and overheated workers will decline
I see colder winters in the winters. I’m gonna move south. It’s become too cold here in Missouri.
Doesn’t this issue repeatedly poll almost dead last amongst issues we actually give a damn about.
Don’t worry, MN. Sen. Amy Klobuchar is on the case. She appears to be obsessed with the climate change scam.
Ocasio Cortez/Klobuchar 2020
Two democrat socialists who are dumb as a post.
Why don’t we skip the climate change narrative, and go right for the Climate Tax. After all, that’s really where this is headed.
Maybe should post a total of 12 goebbels, because I’m sure these additional 6 will occur as well:
Midwest cold waves, more rainfall, mild wildfires, stationary lobsters, mosquito extinction, lava flows increasing Alaska coastlines.
Climate change, maybe, man made climate change - no.
The mosquitos are gone now
Exactly how do these people think we can stop the Climate from “changing”?
At one time what is now Chicago was buried under a Mile thick Glacier. Did some Caveman step on a Butterfly and change the Climate causing that same Glacier to melt and form the Great Lakes?
It’s one thing to complain about the weather, it’s another thing to think you can control it.
Heat waves that make Chicago feel like Las Vegas.
We were in Chicago yesterday. It certainly didn’t feel like the Las Vegas we experienced in the pre-global warming summer sometime in the early 70s.
.
As temperatures continue their 84 year continuous decline, the climate scam rhetoric continues to entropize.
.
Growing seasons are shrinking!
Fuel use is rising.
What are you sniffing?
