Heat waves, mosquito outbreaks, landslides: 6 ways climate change is hitting the U.S.
NBC "News" ^ | November 28, 2018 | by James Rainey

Heat waves that make Chicago feel like Las Vegas. Warming ocean temperatures that displace Maine's lobsters. A year-round spike in disease-carrying mosquitoes in Florida.

These are just some of the ways climate change could play out across the country over the coming decades, according to the federal government's National Climate Assessment, released over Thanksgiving weekend.

Assembled by scientists and administrators from 13 federal agencies, here are six of the most dramatic findings from the fourth National Climate Assessment:

MIDWEST HEAT WAVES

If the world continues pumping out Earth-warming greenhouse gases at current levels, Chicago could see almost as many 100-degree days by the year 2100 as Las Vegas experienced, on average, from 1981 to 2010.

UNPREDICTABLE RAINFALL

Outsized rain downpours have destabilized coastal bluffs, triggering landslides and regularly shutting down parts of Amtrak’s busy Portland-to-Seattle train service.

DEVASTATING WILDFIRES

The tripling of burned acreage is a worst-case scenario.

LOBSTER ON THE MOVE

The home grounds of lobster have shifted north and become more unpredictable, challenging fishermen to deliver one of New England’s most prized exports.

MORE MOSQUITOES

The prevalence of disease-carrying mosquitoes is expected to increase across Florida and much of the Southeast as temperatures warm.

ARCTIC EROSION

Higher temperatures, longer periods of retreating sea ice and sea level rise have combined to create massive erosion along Alaska’s coastlines.

But they never notice longer growing season, lower fuel costs, etc. Gee wonder why.

6 ways climate change is hitting the U.S.

Don’t you have to post that picture 6 times then instead of the normal one time?

Is that why I have to bundle up to go outside today and have freeze warnings tonight when the normal average temp is around 70 degrees?

I’ve bet the wife that we get at least two climate change “disastors” delivered to us by the science illiterate press (which is why they are only journalists and will forever remain so).

So far this year, have not lost one bet.

Oh, and of course, none have actually happened.

So goes the trials of those to whom math is not a friend.

"DEVASTATING WILDFIRES--- The tripling of burned acreage is a worst-case scenario."

In reality it's been much worse than that before.

I would encourage all lobsters to navigate to the Ohio River and I can disclose to them a secret location where I can pick them up and give them a new home on my stove top.

The only changes I see are the polio and other outbreaks the MSM seems to be clueless how they are occurring...likely the same source as the romaine lettuce issues...illegal immigrants...duh.

But did they get the analysis done by the school kids that was on a thread yesterday? Nothing is certain until those kids give their unput.

Climate change is just another attempt by the left to add more bureaucracy to the federal government and more power and money for themselves. I can imagine the next RAT president will create a Department of Climate Change, and it’ll be staffed with a bunch of career lefties whose main goal is not to find solutions to the global warming fraud, but find ways to make the new department a money laundering operation to the DNC, State Democrat parties and their union buddies!

They don’t care about lower fuel costs. They think solar panels, wind farms, and electric cars will solve all the world’s ills. As long as it’s their hand on the lever.

2018 was a relatively cool summer here in Indy. And seeing as it’s now winter, 28 right now.

Lobsters migrate inshore and offshore not north and south.
Perhaps setting traps in deeper water will solve the lobstermen's problems...if they even have one.

If they really want to scare Millennials they should tell them that climate change will interfere with wireless bandwidth causing pages to load 10 times slower which may cause social media to disappear.

Assembled by scientists and administrators from 13 federal agencies...

We know "scientists" lie about their "research" to create a panic atmosphere which leads to further research grants, and we know that most government "administrators" are incompetents who can't survive in the private sector. They are empire builders who understand the priority of stimulating ever increasing agency funding in each successive fiscal year's budget. Both groups work closely together to ensure mutual prosperity and survival.
