Millennial males have been dropping out of the U.S. workforce faster than any other age and gender demographic. Half a million more men aged 25 to 34 would be working now if, like women and some other groups, their participation had returned to pre-crisis levels or better, Bureau of Labor statistics show. Reasons include increased rates of school and training, as well as disability and illness. Other factors feeding into the phenomenon:
*Fewer high-paying manufacturing and mining jobs *More young adults living at home *Better video games *Increased opioid use

I have three kids in the lower end of this age group and a nephew about 15 years older than them. One still in school. The others are working and-or in college. Nephew is out of college, working and paying off student loan. Older son is working because the idea of even more school for any reason gave him hives.
That said, there are manufacturing jobs here and so a guy with a good work ethic, some smarts and skills can do well. HOwever, he has to pass the drug test.
THAT’s a HUGE problem. To the point that some companies are experimenting wiht no drug test or provisional employment providing guys do a program of regular drug testing and counseling. That last idea is kind of working out.The first one, no drug test at all, has been a real head ache.
If they can get by doing whatever they do, fine, but if I (taxpayer) am helping them with my money, not fine.
I had a woman co-worker a few years ago that would sit all day and bitch out her live-in son that wrecked the car, wouldn’t mow the lawn, and ton of other crap. I got tired of it and one day told her, “If he were 16 I could understand your problem. But if you have a 28 year old that you can’t get out of your house, the problem is YOU.”
“But if you have a 28 year old that you can’t get out of your house, the problem is YOU.”

Yeah, like the TV commercial where the wife moves everything in their house into a couple of storage pods except for the couch that the husband is sleeping on. Sure. We know how moving day really is: the guy brings over half a dozen of his buddies, feeds them a lunch of ordered pizza, and then they move the stuff while the wife stands there and points. I won’t say ALWAYS but that’s how it went 98% of the time that I’ve helped anybody move.

If only that were the worst of men’s problems.
If being strong enough to move stuff allows me to have a wonderful, beautiful wife like mine I’ll gladly do it.
And cheerfully take out all the garbage. My wife said once she thinks men evolved partly to do things like that for women. I won’t argue.

You’re the one calling it victimhood. We call it a guy enjoying life, traveling, climbing, getting a car they enjoy, and enjoying the pleasures of female company here and there. I suppose you could call that a a type of victim... I suppose.
Exactly. It really isn’t the best way of life, but if you put yourself in his shoes it sure makes a heck of a lot of sense. I see you as a coping mechanism for the society we built these kids
As much as I absolutely f*cking LOATHE the increasing legalization of the Stupid Herb, it’s likely here to stay and more employers are going to have to adapt. Especially since I recently found out that Canada fell to it.
For that matter, so are the insurance companies for said employers. When a contract literally won’t let you allow anyone to get hired because nobody can pass a drug test that’s grounds to find a new insurer or take them to court.
Was it the “Gatebox” that premiered to sold-out status in Japan? I saw the English commercial for that one, and the company making it is definitely on to something.
It makes me wonder about the underground economy for millennials. Everyone knows about the underground economy for illegals and other poor.. I wonder if white millennial men have joined them. It’s such a large group of young males with no guidance that I can’t believe that they’re all living in their parents’ basements.
What do they expect after 20 years of the war on men? I’m so relieved both of my sons are both gainfully employed and in stable heterosexual relationships. The school system did its best to destroy them. When my older son returned home after being discharged from the military one of the first things he said to me was “thank you for protecting me from the school system.”

There was a story posted here a couple of weeks ago about a manufacturing company in Youngstown, Ohio -- a faded American industrial city if there ever was one -- that has literally hundreds of job openings right now. They can't fill them because 90% of the applicants fail the drug test.
We can complain about immigration all we want, but let's be brutally honest here: These Americans are failing drug tests that almost 100% of the thousands of Latin Americans in those caravans in Mexico would pass.
Well, yes there are a few.
My millennial age sons are well employed and living on their own. One is an Astronautical Engineer and the other is a trucker.

The Frankfurt School’s plan to neuter men and demonize manliness and fatherhood, thereby eliminating their good, logical and reasoned leadership, has worked. Along with their plans to kill belief in God, marriage, heteronormalcy and racial peace. All to America’s great detriment.
I think conservative patriots can offer our millenial males (not men yet, but lost boys, effectively) their manhood back. And they’ll like it. It’s their natural role, their genetic core orogram.
